Is there a way I can erase all these epg files that have been storing in my internal memory with the last 6 months. would a factory reset in spark do it? Or have I fuped up the box!

When stuck, can you connect to it with filezilla ? If so then you will be able to delete the offending files. You don't need to have pictures for the box to be accessible

Yeah ive just connected with filezilla

    Happy days

Disconnect your portable HDD for now

Navigate / Look for the folder HDD or MEDIA/HDD and in there you'll see a folder for CROSSEPG. In this, you should see a number of Crossepg db files and an ext.epg.dat file.

    Delete them all

ok while i was waiting i decided to do a factory reset in spark and i then had to download the e2upgrade plugin and after that i flashed an image and everything seems to be back working ok again.
i just connected the box with my computer and its showing no files under the CROSSEPG folder. but when i go into that plugin that thats called clearmem, it says i have only 6% memory left.

Well if you flashed the box, then you will have wiped out whatever was there before

The only one that would be retained would be a folder on an external Hard Disk

Please put your question outside of the original quote as it gets confusing.

The answer is menu, setup crossepg, configure, select your hdd

When I go into setup crossepg it says ...

    storage device: internal flash (unsuggested)

I can't change it, it records onto my USB so why doesn't it recognise it in crossepg?

In mine on hyper 4 it says /hdd
if i right arrow on the remote I have other options including internal flash

Problem with Fresh Pots image, you cannot change the skin or else the box will not boot on next cold boot

Following on from this and after a few more flashes and further testing it turns out this is not the case, it's the audio fix posted by Zardoz that causes the box to hang on boot on this Fresh Pots image. I can reboot the box and boot fine until I add this fix. It's a bug I can recreate everytime

Anyone know why the EPG data doesn't show past a few hours ?

I deleted the data off the hard drive and reloaded still only a few hrs epg.

Odd,not sure why that is happening ,could be a skin issue.
Its working fine for me with the Pli-HD skin .

I will upload my backup of Hyperion 4 with the many tweaks and patched files next week .

Hi just seeing this now, I would have mentioned that automatic scan doesn't work on Hyperion images yeah but as for the glitching, I'm not sure why that would have started and then stopped after a refresh. Was it only one channel? Did you have an external hard drive connected?

The channel in question appears to be fine again without a re-flash. I guess it was some other factor.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Enigma 2.

Try this, menu, setup, cross epg, open tv providers. Uncheck 28.2 and check 28.4.

I had to do this on a previous image. Can't remember which.

Anyone have the frequency for BBC red button (BBC rb or BBC rb 301)?
Tried selecting last night but got the " service not in path ..." Message. Looked up and scanned the frequencies 10773H22000 5/6 and 11023H 23000 but didn't find it.
Anyone have it working? (it is showing world cup highlights on loop, handy way to catch up)

It may be ( I don't have the ab plugin installed. I am awkward like that!). Would be interested to find out if it is working for folks.

Thanks for the very prompt reply. (So quick I missed it) Will scan when I get home and report back.

Update. Yep that frequency worked. Thanks

Right, after 4 days of faffing around I've finally got it the way I want. Installed a samsung m3 500gb hard drive as advised by you fellas. Everything is running sweet as a nut and as I want. There is just a couple of niggles I was hoping someone could help me out with.
Whenever the box is booted it doesn't zap to the last satellite channel I was on. Or indeed any channel. Just a black screen so I have to input channel number.

The front display is just displaying time and the word 'boot'.I would like the channel name to be there.

Cool TV guide takes a few seconds to load. Not a biggy this I must admit though.

Any help on any of these appreciated......lee

I love the box btw. More reliable than that vu+duo I had. Not as smooth but I suspect that is the processing power. The channels stay cleared though and that is the main function of the box.

Why are you turning it off, use standby

What image are you using? Hyperion 4?
You can select what channel you want the box to start on by marking it to start to this channel on boot. Press OK, highlight the channel you want the box to start on, press menu and select start on boot, (think that's what it's marked)

The front display is just displaying time and the word 'boot'.I would like the channel name to be there.
There's a fix for this in plugins>download new plugins>other> (I cannot remember rightly, but 7162 is in the heading) and download that plugin.

Cool TV guide takes a few seconds to load. Not a biggy this I must admit though.
Is this when you first hit the EPG button? If so it's the same on my image.

Any help on any of these appreciated......lee

Bring up the channel list then highlight the channel you want to setup at startup channel ,press menu then set as startup channel.

If using Hyperion you need to install the vfd upgrade ,its in the plugins server under other,7162 vfd I think .

The Alien 2 is a more powerful box than the Duo ,it has a much faster cpu.

No 28.4, but I discovered cross 0.8 is the latest, I had 0.6 so I deleted the old one.

    Works now ! :D

Thanks for that fellas. I'll try that when I get in after . I'm using hdmu btw. I think it's one of yours zardoz.
I am only putting it in standby, it's just that the original image booted to a channel. With all the work I've been doing on it I've been rebooting a lot.
    Thanks again chaps..... Lee
