At least most of you here don't have to live alongside these scurry rats.

you wouldn't believe the half of it tbh.

    Pure and utter toe-rag scumbags.

Jail is just not good enough for them. To the Gallows I say.

"Ahh but sure they were only having a bit of fun!" That basically summed up the defense case.

    Absolute scum!

The one who was convicted of Murder said he did it "for a buzz".

I hope a load of lads get a buzz out of raping the arse off him daily in prison!

It strains the idea of a civil society, when you come across that kind of thing.

It's just so wrong how law abiding citizens of this country have to pay to kept that scum off the streets.

To the Gallows I say. Call me Facist all you want civil rights people but I for one am sick to crap of the amount of scumbags causing hardship to innocent ordinary law abiding citizens of this state.

No longer time for talk, it's time for action.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭kinetic

I heard a guy on talk radio last week saying how these poor lads lives are ruined now because of what happened, basically they are victims also.
God help our society if thats the attitude of a certain part of our population.

Biko what's took much about what the OP said?

I don't think it was too much, I think what the OP said was on the money.

    EDIT - good call Biko

A new breed of scumbag. I love how he "went for" the camera because it was following him.

I hope the 3 of them are thrown in a hole and left to rot.

Should really be put on birth control for life or have the snip enforced upon them otherwise the ship will have more rats than crew.

There is a lot to be said for the idea that we jail people who kill immigrants - at least EU immigrants - in the country of the victim.

That, I think, would show 'em.

Yeah, I'm just trying to figure that out, how could they be out on bail if they've just been convicted? (Why did they get bail in the first place?)

PS. Someone should accidentally lock that young one in the men's wing next time she calls in to see him.

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/0326/rzeszutkol.html#video

It kind of begs the question if breeding within the human race should be regulated in some way.
The attitude of the culprits and the 2 women in the video is sickening.

The only consolation is they face a long time suffering behind bars. Oh wait, I'm talking sh*te, as the 2 for manslaughter will get roughly 6-7 years and muderer will get 10. All will be walking our streets again in less than 7 years.

'a few slaps and it got out of hand', so off the cuff, so casual.

    Totally offensive wording.

I'm not in favour of capital punishment, but I would like 50 year sentences (no parole) served on a cold, windy uninhabited island off the west coast. No visitors.

Have to agree with most of everything that has been posted so far.

This type of scumbag should be sent away for a long, long time...it was murder , yes they can say it was unintentional but when you attack someone in this manner it should be down as murder.

And when it comes to jail, make it the real thing, not some home from home with even more comforts than they are probably used to...Send them some place where they sleep on a straw mattress after doing hard physical work for 16 hours, each day, every day...and let that go on for many, many, years, See how long the little peroxide tarts stay loyal , one , two months !

At a time when we have seen the brave Collins family forced to leave the country due to their courage, it is time for the decent people of this country to say enough is enough...and tell that muppet Shatter that the same level of attention that was paid to his break-in, must be spent on the rest of the crime wave that is engulfing this country.

It's cases like this that make me want the death penatly re-introduced.
They jumped on a man's head and killed him for no reason but for the craic.
Put them down, they're pointless and dangerous .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,850 ✭✭✭FouxDaFaFa

I've been fuming since seeing this on the news. I just can't comprehend their defence. The three of you went out planning to rob someone and then "danced on his head" for "the buzz". Are you fcuking kidding?!

Absolute scum. I hope they're all found guilty of murder.

Sorry, did that say they're being convicted of manslaughter? How is it not murder?

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

The court also heard that Byrne asked gardaí to arrest him because he did not want to be seen as a "rat".

Oh, so being a rat goes against his principles but killing a man for the fun of it is grand.

I hope he gets gangraped in prison and hangs himself in his cell, but he'll probably make good friends and have a laugh in prison.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭The_Thing

For starters they should not be allowed to cover their faces in an attempt to hide their identity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,067 ✭✭✭Gunmonkey

Its at times like this I ask....why did we get rid of the stocks? Just build one off a Gardai station somewhere, lock em in for a few hours a day during their term in prison(can have a schedule up online) and charge for fruit to pelt them with. Also a Gardai or two to stand there and make sure nobody does anything for "retaliation".

As for "Oh but it would degrade their self esteem, the poor darlings", might do them some good to see how little people think of them when they commit sh*t like this!

Why is he allowed to walk out of a courtroom ?

There isn't a country in the world where a convicted manslaughter, or murderer is not taken in a paddy wagon, handcuffed with the lights on. Even if then to be released on bail - a bail which not be given in this case - prior to an appeal. Its about showing justice being done.

And are they appealing? Didn't two plead guilty? I don't get this.

Because apparently thinking about it beforehand makes it worse. Never understood that myself. Surely somebody who thinks about it and makes the decision to kill somebody for a reason is less of a danger to society than people who kill some randomer for the fun of it.

WEll there is a "red-blooded" excuse. Humans can go over the top in certain situations, I am talking in general here.

However, most countries would count this as murder. If they planned to attack, they premeditated the attack. And the attack led to a death. It wasn't as if the attack happened after a row, it was previously planned. Pre-meditation can be instant, in fact.

    From here:

First degree murder is the killing of another with premeditation. Premeditation is a fully formed, conscious purpose to kill. One common misconception is that premeditation requires a plot or plan to kill. People conjure images of the serial killer stalking his victim for weeks before he finally kills her. While that would clearly be premeditation, the scope is not nearly so narrow. Premeditation can be formed in an instant. All that is necessary is that the person knew what he was doing and knew that the result would likely be death to the other person. That disgruntled employee who 'snaps' and kills his co-worker is guilty of first degree murder.

The US would have fried these muppets, or sent them to jail for their actual life. All of it.

I could be wrong but to convict of murder it must be proven that you planned to kill them. I could be wrong tho

Apparantly only one guy planned to murder, the others came along for the manslaughter.

didn't it say that one had 50+ previous convictions?

He should spend the rest of his life behind bars. No excuses, it's that simple.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

There is a whole strata of society that should be chemically castrated.

1 of them has something like 55 previous convictions. Something wrong with the system here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,904 ✭✭✭✭Galwayguy35

Not much remorse shown by the guy in the video and i dont know what to say about the blonde one roaring at the camera. And any appeal will be footed by us, the taxpayers as they will all get free legal aid.
