Why would he play at FB or TE (as teams wanted him to) when he had such a successful college career at QB? Switching positions rarely works.

Tebow isn't the first decorated college QB to be unable to cut it at NFL level. The two levels are totally different and while sheer athleticism can make up for deficiencies throwing the ball and reading a defense in college it won't get you out of dodge in the NFL. Learn who these guys are and you'll understand the realities a little better:

The NFL would be happy to have him start if he could, you know, throw the ball to the required level. Tebow is not the first star dominating College QB to fail in the NFL. You just heard of Tebow that's all:

Tebow is not unique. Witness Johnny Football's embarrassing performances last year on the NFL field for reference. The difference between Tebow and all of these guys is that his intangibles and athleticism are so good that an offense might make room for him as a utility player.

Tebow's last NFL (pre-season) appearances was with the Pats and it showed that he was pretty useless as a QB.
It was embarrassing stuff at times. It was Josh giving him one last chance.
I think one of the games resulted in booing from the crowd towards Tebow. It really was that bad.
