Actually, it isn't. Don't know where you got that from.

I got it because I failed in it when I was 16.... Anything else?

What else did you do wrong on the test, they wouldn't have failed you for just one thing... unless you sat behind a car at a stop sign after it moved to the middle of the road and was indicating a right turn.

I didn't fail the test, I failed on that question, on the test

What you should have said is:
If you give that answer during the driving test they will see it as incorrect.

What you should have said is:
    You're just being pedantic now!
    That's a fail on a driving test

A fail on a driving test!!!

Pretty clear what that means! I don't believe you can 'fail' your complete driving test because of answering a question wrong

You were wrong, just leave it and move on... Jesus Christ

CinO is right about the undertaking thing.

There are only 2 cases where you can pass a car on the left, regardless of what other drivers are doing.
    1. When the car ahead has signaled a right turn and has moved out to the middle of the road
    2. when in slow moving queued traffic where the left lane is moving faster than the right
I'm pretty sure the ROTR doesn't refer to slow-moving queued traffic - it just says 'slow-moving', with no particular definition of what is 'slow'.

    Overtaking

Overtake only on the right, unless traffic is travelling in slow moving queues and
the traffic queue on your right is travelling more slowly than you are. If you
intend to move from a slower lane to a faster lane, adjust your speed first.

Yes, sure - he didn't finish his manouver. But that doesn't change a fact that it shouldn't be done in the first place.

Rubbish. You might as well say getting in your car and turning the key is the beginning of a manouver called overtaking.

He pulled level he didnt pass. You cant see the future so you cant pre judge what he might have done. He did not pass the car and therefore he didnt undertake. Simple as that.

Wide vehicles are allowed to cross the white line (either broken or continuous) if they are too wide to fit in their lane.

I'm not saying this applies to that case, as he was passing a parked car, but don't assume automatically that if bus or truck is outside the middle line, then he is automatically at fault, because he is fully allowed to cross those lines if needed.

I wonder would you post a link to the rules or legislation that allows large vehicles to cross a continuous white line. I've been driving trucks for nearly 30 years and never heard of this, but every day I learn something new.

Got this today. Not sure what the Octavia driver was doing. Then the bus at the end misjudged it's entrance to roundabout.

This is just a straight upload. Didn't modify it at all.

Not sure what the Octavia driver was doing.

I think he was on his way to his Douchebag's Anonymous group.

    Here you go:
    (6) Nothing in this article shall so operate as to prevent a driver from driving along a roadway, where traffic sign number RRM 001 (continuous white line) has been provided, where due to the width or length or both of the vehicle in relation to the road lane width, and where the vehicle is not engaged in an overtaking manoeuvre, it is necessary to straddle or marginally cross that sign.”,

He was in middle of the manouver.

If it's prohibited to undertake, it means you are not allowed to even start the manouver.

Yes, sure - he didn't finish his manouver. But that doesn't change a fact that it shouldn't be done in the first place.

If people like the driver of the Silver Mercedes in the video in question knew how to use the road, the issue would not occur.

People who sit in an overtaking lane and refuse to move left when not overtaking - even in the middle lane of a motorway - should be liable to be undertaken when it's safe to do so. There's no logistical difference between a driver having to check his left mirror before moving to the left and the right - it shouldn't be unsafe. Either that or alerting their attention with brief use of lights/horn should be permissible and not considered unreasonable.

If I had a badge and blue lights I would make it my single mission to pull over and fine every last lane hogger - specifically middle lane hoggers - to teach them the error of their ways. I genuinely believe none of them even know it's wrong because 3-lane motorways are so new here. In fact I make a point of (safely) overtaking them in lane 3 and then pulling back into Lane 1 in the hope they'll notice me and follow suit. Sometimes, it appears to even work.

Allowing to undertake is not a good idea.
It might often looks something like that:

That is undertaking; like overtaking, but going on the inside.

What Strituck did in his video was pass the car on the inside.

Passing the car on the inside is not always undertaking.
