Yeah, show it to the gards.
They might just 'have a word' to the driver about the Darwin Theory.

They should get points on their parenting licence.

The potential for disaster is unreal.

Am I being overly sensitive in thinking that this is very very dangerous, and pretty disgraceful behaviour from any parent?

Kid hanging out the passenger window of the Ford Focus.

Hi that junction with the lights going red then green is a serious signal fault and if you get a chance report it.
That is a serious accident waiting to happen.

Report to local council you can phone or email.

Do the child a favour and report the driver! Before it gets killed. The kid doesnt know any better and by the looks of it the driver doesnt either!

Been living here many years and have never seen it change like that.
Been through it a few times since as well and not seen it.

    Strange one.

This was my first thought, but to be honest, I don't know her personal circumstances, and although I could be quick to judge, we all do stupid things sometimes. Maybe this is just one of them times for her.

That said, I'm sure I'd feel differently if something were to happen to the kid. Anywho, the reg is clearly visible in the video, if someone wanted to talk to a garda about it. I've a feeling they wouldn't be too interested.

Those would have been the right two idiots to run into each other, both in the wrong lane.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,947 ✭✭✭Taylor365

That's coming off the M1, so both lanes go to the airport.

No reason you come off the M1 just to go back onto it. The left lane is there in case you need to. Obviously lost.

Lights always go red then green. The sequence is Green - orange - red - green and so on.

That's not what I meant, and you know that. Cheers for the valid input

    edit:youtube is a dick.

If the Merc had stopped and sooner or harder it is likely i would have a face full of bus right now. Thanks bus.

To be honest I don't believe the bus driver would run you over, even if you didn't bother moving more to the left.

He did that to force you to move left, but there was still some space either on his left side and between him and you.

Lack of screen is the killer for me

Edit: Actually, with the video out, I could connect it to the screen in the car.... Hmmm, tempted

Arrogant bus driver forcing two motorists to break the law by crossing continious white line into bus lane. Typical 'I'm bigger than you' attitude.

He did't force anyone to cross the continuous white line.
IMHO there was enough space for car to stay on his lane while passing the bus.

So you're trying to say that i could've remained in my own lane whilst the bus had it's two wheels across the centre lines?

There was no way to know what the bus was going to do, moving over was the safest option

There was Barely enough room to pass had he not swerved

    Yes.
That's what I'm trying to say.

I drive a bus on narrow roads, where I have to be outside centre lines because lanes are too narrow to accommodate a bus.
But if car drivers oncoming stay on the left side of their lane, then we can pass each other so they don't need to run away from the road to the grass (however sometimes they do, as they just can't judge the width of bus and their own vehicle).
And for me it looks like similar situation.

Obviously bus driver could have stayed there and wait by parked car for a gap in oncoming cars. But fact is that possibly he could have wait there for ages.

IMHO bus driver intentions were quite clear. He moved over to pass a parked car. He wouldn't have done it if he knew he's not going to fit.

Unfortunately when it comes to litigation there is a process called discovery. I know what you're saying though and it would be pretty cool.

Is that not just for the prosecution case?

My dash cam is in the centre of my dash, the bus drivers intentions were to boss his way through a gap he would not fit if he didn't force me to push over. Not to mention as i said,if the mercedes was going any slower or braked harder i would've either been up the arse of the merc or picking my teeth out of the buses grill.
The bus driver had no right of way and i ended up swerving to avoid him, pretty indefensible.

    That's your point of view.
My point of view is that if you kept on the left side of your lane (but stayed on it) you would pass with the bus no problems. There was no need to swerve or brake, and if you stayed on your lane, you wouldn't have any problem with mercedes either.

Pause at 25,go to full screen, recognise that there's about 3foot left of my camera shot.I don't drive a cinquecento. It is impossible to fit a car in my lane while the bus is impeding it.
