I was asked to pick my mother-in-law a present last year,so being of practical mind I headed to powercity and bought a Hoover (she mentioned hers was broke before).
Well I was dragged back there by the other half to get a refund, was embarrassing having to stand there at the tills while getting disapproving looks from everyone.

Still think it was a great present, something practical, something she wanted.

When we were in 3rd year for school we had a secret Santa in our class. I wasn't particularly fond of the guy I pulled out of the hat, so I took a rather large lump of coal and put it in a small shoebox, wrapped that in wrapping paper and a bow and presented it to him in class the next day.

Jesus he was excited until he opened it!!

I must say no present that year was particularly good, I received a six pack of walkers cheese and onion!!

Beside the glow of fairy lights on the Christmas tree the family gather and each person opens their presents one by one and amid the oohs and aahs of the onlookers it is truly a joyous time. This is followed by a family breakfast and much discussion on all the presents. It really is a lovely family time. Joy, laughter and the sharing with all the family are truly great.

Best present given was a trip to Old Trafford to see my beloved Man Utd play to my Uncle, it was the best present I could have given as we are both huge Man Utd fans and my Uncle hadn't seen them play since the 60's and we loved every second :D

Would love to go again if only I had the spare Euros :(:(

I would have thought a potato would have been an awful present, but if it comes with that clock it would probably be a good thing.
