    Seasons Greetings :)

We hope you’re getting excited by the approach of Christmas! This wait can be tantalisingly slow for some, but for others the time will tear by faster than Santa's Sleigh can travel (leading to manic last-minute shopping…).

Well, winning the Christmas Package we have up for grabs this month should help you either way.

The Electric Ireland Store is there to cater for your Christmas needs, with plenty to offer the curious shopper. We have put together a package of the below products, worth a combined €280 to one lucky winner.

    SolarFairyLights-1-1-1.jpg
    • The Devotec Bluetooth Stereo Speaker is a high quality portable speaker system that plays music via Bluetooth®, and in addition to being mains-chargeable, it can also be powered up by the sun.
    • The Green Science Potato Clock - now here’s a strange one! It’s a clock powered by, ahem... spuds. Easier to come by in most Irish households than batteries when the power runs dry! ;) Plus it would make a great toy for any inquisitive mind!
    • The Philips Living Colours Mini will set the mood and bathe your home in a colour of your choice.
    • The Powermonkey Classic V2 Charger provides portable power for your gadgets when you need it.
    • And finally, the Solar Centre Fairy Lights let you place lights outside without the hassle of mains power – let the sun do the work, even in winter! (so they could be a nice addition to your Christmas décor)
To be in with a chance to win, just leave a comment below. Anything will do, but to make things more interesting, you could tell us about the best or worst present you’ve ever given someone for Christmas…

Competition closes at midnight on Sunday 11th December, and the winner (chosen at random) will be announced on the Monday morning. Our competition T&Cs can be viewed here.

    Best of luck! :)

    David.

Best Christmas present - definitely the set of 3 Samurai swords my wife gave me before we got married. They're amazing and have pride of place in my house.

best present i have given someone was a magazine subscription to my best mate. every year we give each other a list of two or three things we'd like then something is picked off that list. well one year i told him i didn't want a list off him that i knew what i was getting him. it drove him mad, he was afraid i'd buy him something crap.

the mag is quite hard to get here lest you subscribe, so i bought the years sub, got a certificate thingy for it, and got a giant tube - kinda like the ones you get a chrimbo full of smarties - and put it in.

he unwrapped and saw the tube (he told me later he thought to himself on seeing the tube 'oh..... she has bought me a star or something!) and was like wha!!! but when he opened it he was delighted :)

It was a lovely gold necklace with my birthstone in it from my dad, the only problem is I'm allergic to gold, I don't wear any type of jewellery around my neck and it wasnt my birthstone. I know he tried but seriously you would think he would know better

I got a gorgeous blouse from a very expensive boutique from my husband. ONly trouble was I was 3 months pregnant at the time, and I did not get to wear it till the next autumn, and since I had not got rid of extra weight it did not fit me at all till Christmas a year later.

My worst present was a puce-pink transistor radio when i was 14. I was the age where i really cared what my peers thought. I asked for a twin-deck; it was the 80s. When this arrived i was so dissappointed. The sound was so bad that you would not know the difference between a popsong and a concerto.

I have found ESB to be the best provider of electricity supplies as they listen to their customers and help when they are having a problem, unlike some other providers I cant mention. They dont hound you when you are a few euros behind, they know you are doing your best. Fair play to you ESB, I'll never switch.:D

And a merry christmas to you all on Boards.
