I'm guessing that accuracy at the very start and end of a segment is critical, with the stuff in the middle not being so important.

Pretty much, if you cover the start and the finish but take a detour in the middle that in any one elses ride makes it a different route, Strave will often add you to the initial segments list.

You know you're taking Strava KOMs too seriously when you start selling yourself outside Amgen for EPO!!!.
It's a just for fun article (but how long until we hear it for real!)

Whats the crack with this boards.ie strava club. Is it open to all? Im only getting my head around Strava at the moment and just uploaded a host of activities from the last month or so and supposedly i have the fastest time in the "Phoenix Park Loop". Interesting seeing how ive stacked up to others on some recent training rides.

why the a rather than e?

Some connection with David or Robert Millar perhaps? Or avoiding being hit with a copyright infringement suit!

IIRC it was after David's TdF stage win.

Got one of those 'uh oh' this morning. The good thing is that it's currently still a tie.

I absolutely f&*king hate those things.

On the upside, just a couple more, and I'll never get any of them again.

To be fair, it starts a good bit on one side of the junction, and doesn't cross through it. And it ends before the next junction too, not at the lights or anything.

Yeah true enough, but I have held back coming up to the junction for a green light in the past so I could build speed up to it (not that it helped mind )

    2 new challenges for y'all

Our own "manafana" is currently 3rd on the overall leaderboard on the 2nd one. Could we have a Boards winner of a Strava challenge? Keep going manafana.

Impressive stuff, although I suspect he won't want to sit on a bike for a few weeks after finishing the RAID!!!

Finally took KOM on the "Run past the Gardai" by 3 seconds, was in 2nd for ages just one second behind but I was in a rush and hit at speed in the big ring, if I pace myself a bit better I could take another 4 of it (in time and not for awhile)

Double KOM! :D Have to celebrate as it rarely happens me and I doubt it'll last as they're busy places! I've had my fun anyway, so if any proper cyclists want some easy pickings fire away!

My impossible to beat KOM was taken from me, damn you *shakes fist*. I still have two in France (how I'll never know).
