Probably helped you out by a few seconds and did you act super cool at the end as if it was nothing but fall down in a heap out of sight? :D

I have been getting under 4.40 consistantly now for the last month, my best has probably been 4.33. Would like to push to under 4.30.

Never checked the time for 1K, usually do 1200 in 5 mins.

Reckon it would be just under the 4 minute mark.

Must check it out next time

That's pretty amazing gains. Wish I could decimate mine in the same style.

Thanks,i am kind of surprised tbh.setting is at 10,addictive machine though

10 is maybe heavy. I'm no expert but I think it's standard enough to have set it at drag factor of 135. All those machines are different though and if its not been cleaned in a while 10 might be light enough.

    Either way, great improvements.

Cool to see the 2013 UL IRC National results all published here http://concept2.co.uk/nationals/results?race_name=irish

I've been in bits with cold and sinus for the last two weeks and have been testing for the next traiing cycle so didn't do some of the row tests only the 20sec max distance and 2k.

    20sec max dis = 123m
2k - 7:09.5 down 0.5 sec from before christmas but I'm blaming the cold. First 2 splits were under 1.45, third one was high 1.5? and last was 1.4? Should have photographed them but was too busy lying on the floor recovering.

Gotta find 10 seconds somewhere in there

First time I've gone flat out for a 1k time. Managed 3:20.. nearly sick afterwards :D

I was able to do 2500m in less than ten mins a few month ago... yesterday took me 11mins... need to sort it out!!

Should be able to knock a 1000m out in less than 4 minutes..

This is at setting 10 right?? Even at 10 the resistance isn`t huge..or maybe the rowing machine needs a service!!

Just tried doing 6 sets of 500m on the concept2 set at 10.

Saw a rugby thing where the wales full back did 1min30s repeats for 500m with 30sec rest

Averaged about 1m45 for my set of 6. Fecking hard exercise!! Gotta do more!

Leigh Halfpenny was it? He's a mini-beast. What channel was it on/link?

It was a pdf actually. Not halfpenny, the last fullback...
Pdf was sort of a training article. Based on the concept2 training for rugby

    Lee Bryne?

I knocked out a 1:30 on my first go and not a chanced I'd be able to put another after it. I had that deep exhaustion that lasted a few hours from 90s exercise!

I think I read that setting 5 is typically the setting which resembles water resistance of a competitive rowing boat or something like that.

Managed a 3.15 1k on Tuesday, and a 7.20 2k today (I felt i could have went a good bit quicker on that tho, first time doing a 2k just trying to get a feel for hte pace).

    it's usually between 6 and 7.
You want a drag factor around 138-140 or so

It completely depend on the rower, as they get dusty and such the drag increases. I've seen older rowers hit 140 on setting 3 or 4.

Zombie Bump but it needs resurrecting...

I'm back(ish) well 2 erg sessions in two days both half an hour but realistically this is my first 2 sessions period in about 3 years!:eek::eek:

    30 mins:

    Session 1 - 7004m

    Session 2 - 7258m

    Session 3 - ?

Aim is steady state - 20 strokes per minute - fan setting 3.5 - drag - no idea.

Short Term Goal is 8000m in 30 minutes at 20 spm and then see about a 1k time..., I can't wait...:D

    BW - 115kg.

Haven't done a 1km time, but a recent workout included two 4 min rows as part of a longer block. And I hit 1030 and 1015 m for each.
Equates to 3:53 over 1000m, according to this thread I posted 3:40.1 in 2012
