That doesn't look as bad as the rain shown on the bbc, and tbh it doesn't look like a rain band at all it just looks like a few strong showers, and by the time it reaches here it'll be **** drizzle like yesterday! Oh suns out again.

heavier rain not due until this eve. This is just the beginning of a front that could dump up to an inch in parts.

Can i ask how a forecast of 19 degrees will automatically end up being 20 or 21?

Isn't it just as likely to end up as 17 or 18???

Because in Coleraine you have to add 3 or 4c to the high temp and subtract 3 or 4 from the low temp!!

hopefully that rain wont amount of much where I am, currently feeling very warm and sunny, 22C.

In fairnees youd need to as coleraine is notorious for having the most boring , uneventful weather on the island , i think -3c was the lowest temp recorded up there during the big freeze , nothing like the -double figures we saw down here!

In fairnees there might have been a bit of a snow flurry up there as well , i felt guilty with all the white stuff that i had round here:o

    i have noticed;)

In fact, we have had no significant rainfall since December. Certainly been the driest first 6 months to the year that I can remember. Riverbeds are dry, reservoir levels critically low and grass is parched. Extraordinary turn around from November (below)

Light to medium rain here (foot of Silvermines Mountains few miles south of Nenagh) since 16.00, with break of approx 10 mins at 17.00.

Was working outside for all of that time in t-shirt and only got slightly damp. Same with concrete footpaths around house.

Judging by Met radar don't think we'll see heavy rain for a few hours yet.

raining here now but it's patchy, after a very warm and quite sunny day i dont mind really once the rain mainly falls at night. The good news is that the forecast seems to have had a bit of a changearound, its not gonna be nearly as wet in the east as previously thought. According to the RTE forecast earlier on the east should stay largely dry, mild/warm and good sunny spells over the next 4 days or so with only some rain maybe saturday night. They described the current conditions as not a 'proper breakdown' so hopefully signs that the warm, dry and sunny conditions may well return sooner than we thought.

Well the radar says there is, but according to that it started to rain here 30 mins ago but it was only drizzling here so, it'll take like 30 mins for the proper rain to get to you or light rain.

Barely wetting the ground here in Dublin city centre. Hopefully this will get its act together.
