    but if your not seen to be making any effort to get a job you will lose your dole payments taking a fas course is seen to be making an effort

    Yep. Well while it's hit ratio on getting people into employment may not be particularly high, it's a 100% worthwhile service for those people alone who take it seriously.

    You get kicked off FAS courses if thats all you are doing. They track your progress.

    Indeed Still though Im right and they were wrong for knocking me woohoo.

    I agree I have seen it be a positive thing in certain peoples lives but in many more cases I have seen it as just a waste of tax money, so its the individual and not really the service that results in any betterment and now totally off topic.

    The FAS course I was on had a girl who was involved in a fairly high profile chipper owner murder sitting next to me. She had a new identity and everything.

    I went to school with a girl whose family fled the country after the mother ripped off the IRA. Can't remember the exact details (it was 20 years ago), but it was all over the papers for a few weeks.
