Is it free delivery to Ireland too?

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 12,013 Mod ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

    Yeah, fairly sure it's free!

Sleep pattern's all messed up -- just finished the first half of the Shea Stadium (baseball pitch) show from 1980 featuring Andre (face) vs Hogan (heel!) in the WWF. Old wrestling is rough without promos or entrances!!!

Deadly serious here it is something to savour. Watch out for the wrong number scene and the Van Hammer/Briscoe rib on the extra disc.

Oh my god they were hilarious. And that bit about Steve Weiner too :D

Why is Silvervsion.co.uk cheaper than Silvervision.ie when they're both free delivery to anywhere in Europe anyway?

Its not cheaper from what i can see.....once you switch the co.uk one to the euro sign the prices are the same as the .ie site

British retailers tend to swing the Pound to Euro conversion rate to suit themselves, so the Irish consumer tends to spend more than the British consumer. Happens with a lot of high street department stores. There was a big fuss made about it a few years ago, but i'm not sure if anything was done about it as it's not illegal.

If you are gonna buy some, buy them in sterling. E.g. Best of Nitro dvd is £17.99,which is €20.53 euro at the minute on XE.com. but if you click the euro icon its €24. Save a few squids.

There is no such thing as "free" delivery unless Royal Mail and An Post and their workers have started offering free services. The price of the delivery is included. For Euro prices, which would be deliveries to outside Britain, the Euro price is inflated to cover the "free delivery".

Play.com are rather sneaky and don't let you pay in Sterling forcing you to pay in Euro and thus pay the cost of delivery. Silvervision at the least let Irish customers pay in Sterling and then delivery "for free".

They've a new sale on at the moment with some Tagged classics. Gonna pick up Armageddon 2000/No Way Out 2001 and Judgement Day/Fully Loaded 2000. None of these were originally released on WWF DVD so for less than a tener each these are worth it I'd say.

    This one sounds interesting:
08/23: WWE: 50 Most Shocking, Surprising & Amazing Moments in WWE History (DVD)
Wonder will they mention Benoit in it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,409 ✭✭✭Butch Cassidy

No they won't. But it would be interesting if they did a warts n all doc on some of the stupidest storylines they ever did. The cartoon characters of the mid-90s. The Mae Young scandals. Katie Vick. The masked assailants back in 2005 on Smackdown. Apologies would be nice actually.

06/28: WWE: Greatest Steel Cage Matches of All Time (DVD)

... could be interesting. The two-disc DVD that came out years ago was a tad short and some of teh matches were only highlights. I can't really think of many matches off hand but I recall that previous DVD was lacking in content from the other libraries WWE now own - WCW, ECW, WCCW etc. (However, there was one or two WCW matches). It'd be great to get some old 80s MSG main events though I suspect it'll be newer stuff of the last decade. Cage matches became ten-a-penny. Can't remember the last good one. Naitch v Orton in 2004?
    10/25: WWE: Austin/Rock: The Rivalr

... is an odd one. Most of their matches are out on various compilations already. A documentary wouldn't be that interesting.

Just ordered from Silvervision for the first time (the Eddie DVD + Judegement Day/Fully Loaded). Does anyone have any idea how long they usually take to deliver? Cheers.

usually about a week. I order DVDs on Monday's and if I don't have them by Friday it'll definitely be there on Monday.

I'd recommend using the .co.uk site, everything works out cheaper. No additional charges for postage to Ireland either.

Eddie DVD is on sale today. €10 on the .ie site or £6.99 on the .co.uk, £6.99 in € is 7.93.

Thanks, I didn't even know there was .ie site! My order was just under fifteen pounds which is a great price imo. I didn't know they did free delivery too so I'll be checking back there regularly. I usually order from Amazon (I find that the 3 disc compilations are pretty cheap there) but Silvervision looks good to pick up the odd PPV and tagged classic, especially as delivery is free.

I got the Best of Devitt 09 and 10 DVDs.

They're Nero burned DVDs with no boxes or covers but for the cheap price who cares. All matches are great quality and some of the newer ones even widescreen. Well worth it.

Silvervision are definitely taking longer to deliver now. Waiting about 10 days for my last order, normally 6.

They have new special offers on now. Ordered Judgement day/fully loaded 2000(£7.99), Armageddon/No way out 00/01(£7.99) and wm26(£10.99). With the discount £24.27.

A lot of the dvd's on the last sale are still available on the new deal.
