well Jeff has thought me a lesson - with regards to shoes - buy cheap buy twice !!

I usually do between 10k and 15k steps everyday and I still get a couple of years out of a decent pair of shoes !!

I suppose when your hunched up in a shed at a keyboard most of your time the steps are limited

Jeff Rudd probably needs to pull of a Ben Gilroy like stunt at this stage to get elected - a video of him driving a motorboat through the river in Drogheda, standing outside SuperValu dressed as an Elvia impersonator, chaining himself to the doors of LMFM etc.

Elvis or Elvira? With the recent photography offer either is possible!

Even your weak attempt to mock this great man shows that you lack his foresight.

I'd say Jeff is a Hush Puppy merchant, or he would be if his social welfare stretched that far.

Now in the few hours left to canvas. Looking forward to three things when done this evening.
    .
    1. Kissing my wife Joanne who I love.
    2. Opening a can of larger at home, to unwind.
    3. Sleep.
    .
Tomorrow? I will think about that then for a change.

    1. Good of Dudd to remind us all that he loves his wife.

    2. A can of larger what? I’m on tenterhooks here.

When one suckles at the state teat, one never has to think about the following day, so he’s right-that would be a change.

    Vote for me

I can't spell a 5 letter word like lager (feck off jeff the auto correct excuse is mine) but honestly I'm the bestest choice ever!

Funny thing. I counted Jeff using 3 different spellings for Alistair. In one post he was thanking Allester for all his help that day.

lager would never be autocorrected to larger. He wrote larger.

God, another attempt by you online warriors to try and silence him and prevent him from smashing the system and making things better for everyone. It's abundintley clear that Jeff wrote larger on purpose on behalf of a project for the Council for which he received a hugh grant to test a spellchecking system he made as an IT specialist teacher and you all should have known that even though there was no possible indacation or mention of it at any time before.

You online warriors should realise there are lager things to be worried about!

Big day tomorrow. Jeffs campaign went out in a flurry of banal posts that read like aspirational memes for early learners. The posts didn't get much traction in the "likes" department. Jeff's never quite figured out the "Less in more" when it comes to getting a message across.

Jeff will spend today evo-sticking the rubber soles back onto his monkey boots so they'll be good enough for the stroll down to the count on saturday.

He's spent the last few weeks getting to know the people in his community. Something he appears to have not done over the rest of his life.
Maybe he'll have met some people involved in the local Tidy Towns or local youth group or soccer club or charity shop or men's sheds.Maybe he's met burger flippers, shelf stackers and janitors. People who actually do stuff in their community and get on with life.
People that can't afford (mentally and financially) to spend the other 4 years and 10 months in their garden shed.
I think it's too much to think that Jeff might get inspired by others but one can hope.

All these weeks Jeff still couldn't come up with one real positive local initiative that didn't look bandwagony. Everything smelled funny. Everything was a lie. Nothing had honest provenance. Even his opening spiel of "New and Fresh!" is old and stale.

Jeff's wanders about life like a plastic bag caught in a breeze in the corner of an empty school yard. Round and round, listlessly bouncing off the ground. Fulfilling nothing.

Anyone guessing Jeff's total tally? I'm going 238.

A 100% increase on his last total. I applaud your optimism.

he was outpolled 2.5:1 by spoiled votes last time.

Looking at the last results, DDI actually hoovered up a lot, I think he might get a little bit of that loony vote, so this year I expect him to rise up and challenge spoiled votes.

    eldamo - 273

Actually thinking about it, a campaign saying to put his name down instead of spoiling your vote would probably have been more fruitful than anything that he actually campaigned on.

He had a full page advert and called door to door.
198 for me, which IMO is 198 too many for our work-shy anti-hero!

For reference , what would the expected quota be for his chosen constituencies?

    Was about 1200 last time.

Last few stragglers got through on just under 1000 after transfers.

I’m going 300 .. maybe 301 if I decide to give him my first preference

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,500 ✭✭✭✭DEFTLEFTHAND

    We've family just outside Drogheda.

I was thinking of asking them to do our man Jeff a turn and give him a first preference but I've a feeling that they could be living inside the Meath border. Will have to check tonight.

I’m going with 162 just for the town constituency. His last run was fairly shambolic with the DDI split so I can see him improving.

Considering he only cottoned on to the fact he was actually running in a local election instead of addressing a PBP/Solidarity Árd Fheis about 2 weeks before polling.... I reckon 180.
