Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He played a Syd Barrett track for me last week, was absolutely delighted. His show would go hand in hand with Kelly-Anne Byrne's Beat Goes On on Today FM, sadly Kelly gave up doing the show, but Creedon would handle a similar crossover probably not as much electronica as such but alternative, psychedelic, prog, trad, folk rock, hard rock, rock n roll, psychobilly, rockabilly, Americana, blues, jazz and funk.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

I found out last week that Kelly-Anne Byrne is doing a show on Twitch on Saturday nights, and she uploads the show onto Soundcloud afterwards. She played a load of her 45s last weekend and did a Stevie Wonder tribute the weekend before!

If ye like this sort of stuff I'd suggest Craig Charles on BBC6 Satrudays from 6-9. Brilliant funk and soul show, it used to be a great lead in to the beat goes on!

Ah, Echo Beach. Takes me back to a brilliant holiday on Vigie Beach in 1980. We changed the lyrics to suit. Magic days.

    Thanks (again!) John

    Good man, John :)

Boo hoo. Couldn’t get John to stream this evening. “Please try again later”. It’s some sort of punishment for me complaining about the age of the RTÉ news headlines recently. :(

Great list again. Bleeding Heart Pigeons, Elbow and a cracker from Denise Chaila. More to come... like Cocteau Twins

I don’t have a radio! Having gone all high tech, there’s obviously some issue with my Google Nest thingy, and TuneIn - but only with Radio 1. Everything else works ok. And I’m listening in tonight (to another great show!) on an iPad. Curiouser and curiouser.

    Ah well ....

I normally use the RTE radio 1 app on the phone to a speaker, if I have to stream. Rarely a problem. Although if the problem is at RTE's end it's all a matter which app you use

Or plug headphones, which act as an aerial , into the phone. Depending on your phone you should have an FM radio app.

Ah here. Murder Most Foul is up there with The Lonesome Death of Hattie Caroll, back in 1964. I hope Creedon played it (Murder), but it's terribly long. Listen again. In parts of the song, he's almost growling, and in a voice as languid as a blackbird, he goes, "Blew off his head while he was still in the car". Sublime. I love it.

Haven't heard 'Country House' in a while, sure why not! I was half hoping he would play 'Roll With It' straight after as a nod to the 'Battle of Britpop'.

Nearly 25 years ago now, how time flies.

Just heard the ad today. If it's the same one the tune is an old John Martyn track called Fairy Tale Lullaby from the album London Conversation. And yes, it is rather great.

    That was my request! :D

(Which I missed, due to watching the amazing Courage / Other Voices set being broadcast from Genveagh - Neil Hannon, Cathy Davey and Eve Belle, all fantastic voices, couldn't recommend it highly enough! Avl on YouTube)

But my request for John Creedon was consolation for him not being able to help me with a bloody song that's going around in my head for the last while, and I CANNOT FIND IT!

I am almost convinced thats it's an Everly Brothers song (but I might be wrong) - it's a country-ish, sort of stompy kind of rhythm, very tuneful, and there's an uilleann pipes accompaniment throughout, and a solo "verse" of the pipes..... I've heard it on the odd occasion on Radio 1 (maybe John Creedon, maybe Ronan Collins, can't remember, but that kind of programme).

It's driving me completely bonkers trying to identify it - I've googled every search variation I can think of, to no avail...... anyone able to help me out here???
