Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tesco tills are intelligent enough that they won't apply a multi-buy offer (like four for €10) if the items' individual prices would add up to less. So no need to only buy three at a time etc!

I'd have hoped as much tbh, but I wasn't that pushed on getting a large amount of it (just wanted a few for the afternoon really), so there were a couple of combining factors that meant staying below 4 made sense :)

Got lots today! 3 bottles equals 1 litre at €24. That's cheaper than their cheapest litre at €25 when they have them on offer! Happy days!

I did the same, being pedantic 1.05l is €24 so it's a litre for 22.85

In my local Tesco I saw In the 4 for 10 craft beers they had a Bru Dark side IPA in there but instead of one being 2.67 it was 1.07. I got three at that price. My question is does anyone know if 4 would tick the total over to 10 euros.?

Not exactly fill the car boot prices but Dunnes have crates of Carlsberg for €30 so if you got 2 with the €10 off €50 spend voucher they are €25 each.

    1L Paddy €30 in Dunnes (that's 2L for €50 if you have a voucher)

Was €16 for 12 when I was in last Friday and again when I looked on Tuesday.

They are usually €17, so not a huge reduction.

no stock in Pottery road store at 3pm today I doubt there was a rush on it so I don't think they have the stock. I went to Greystones and only a few there, from past experience I know if I go tomorrow there will be the very same low stock on the shelves. It's the same with the weekend savers on the wine you have to go on the Saturday because even though they say it's on both Saturday and Sunday all the white wine is sold out on the Saturday, not a chance of getting a bottle on a Sunday. If they are having these specials why hold back on stock?

O'Hara's Leann Follain was 1.58 a bottle in Tesco Killarney today.

It's a lovely stout and at 6% is stronger than most.

I had about 45 in two hours, then I had an ol' packet of crips and I'll probably have about 10 more anyway.

    From the times Friday

The power of big business has been exposed in the Oireachtas through the successful recruitment of cross-party support in opposing and delaying passage of the Public Health (Alcohol) Bill. Not since cigarette smoking was banned in public places has there been such intense lobbying. Politicians from all parties, along with Independents, were recruited by the industry and it has taken nearly three years for the Bill to reach its final stage. There is no certainty that it will be implemented.

Dangerous times we live in. Let's hope and pray to Paddy Losty.

You can't stop for one pint in the pub anymore with the drink driving laws and now they want to pounce on us in our homes with more tax because we buy from off licences.

There'll be little craft breweries in every shed and spare room in a few years.

For those who like to buy their tipple at a bargain price it is worth noting that only one member of the Oireachtas Senator Sean Barrett spoke out against MUP. All the rest want you to pay more.

It will need to be commenced by the Minister after being signed in to law. And as it is almost certainly contrary to EU law its unlikely it'll ever be commenced.

We had minimum cigarette pricing for about 18 months until the EU stopped it remember.

Poitín etc will be backing a comeback all over the country if they target below cost selling (loss leaders), this will also have a knock on effect for deciding where peoples weekly shopping is done.
Be interesting to see what they come up with, could be water protests all over again lol.

Banning below cost would be legal but tbh there is very little of that. The bottles of spirits for under €15 are below cost generally. Beer is basically never sold below cost.

MUP will make the cheapest crap cost the same as current premium and clearly the premium stuff will get dearer to maintain the margin

Those first two sentences were like sweet music to my ears.

And I just happened to be sipping a beautiful drink at home when I read it.
