    2 x Heineken for €35

    Good deal.

Any deals on the 500ml Heineken cans anywhere?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,015 ✭✭✭CreepingDeath

Leffe Blonde is back in stock in Lidl ! ( Lucan )
    4 x 330ml bottles for €5.49

It's the best price I've seen ( excluding up North ).

In contrast, Tesco charges €8.35 for the same.
And recently I checked out SuperValu ( the old Superquinn in Lucan ), and they were charging even more, €8.55 or thereabouts.
No value to be found in that store.

I'm torn between sharing this as a bargain alert, in case they sell out!
    It's absolutely beautiful beer !

    8 x 500ml Bulmers cans €12.00 in Tesco

EDIT - I just noticed the Lidl offer is better

That Molson 24 cans for €24 is a serious offer, I'll be picking up a few slabs t that price thanks OP!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,875 ✭✭✭kn

Overall they are not 'great' offers though. I remember it was Tesco that went BOGOF on €24 slabs (circa 50c a can) one Paddy's day 5 or 6 years ago that started the backlash against the supermarket drink offers.

Them is the prices of now I am afraid, if I had use of the Delorean I'd be back every Friday evening for a few crates but sadly I don't. Most of the above is below cost price.

    24 cans Carlsberg-€24

Ah here now CreepingDeath. Took your advice and picked up some...my god what a nice beer.

Lidl also have Stella Artois Cidre for€1.99 per bottle which I personally find nicer than bulmers. It's regularly that price but a nice change of scenery compared to bulmers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,201 ✭✭✭jamesbondings

Just got two boxes of Heineken (20 bottles) for 35 quid, also available for coors light

    OOPS in TESCO

Beware when buying cheap Carlsberg. I've seen one or two off licences making a big deal of Carlsberg offers, but these cans are often only 3.8% ABV. You might as well be drinking water from the tap.

300ml bottles are a rip off. A lot of those offers were originally for 330ml bottles but the supermarkets have cottoned on to the fact that they can sell 300ml bottles for the same price as 330ml bottles without shoppers realising it.

300ml bottles have always been sold by the supermarkets - its to prevent the publicans buying in bulk from their local Tesco and then reselling it at 500% markup.

300ml bottles are a rip off if you pay a rip off price. This is a Bargain Alert thread designed to help you avoid paying a rip off price.

    Not ALWAYS.
    From about 2009.

Sorry, but up until about 2009 most bottles of beer sold in Ireland in ol's & in pubs were sold in 330ml bottles.

Spotted that myself, at least regarding the boxes of bottes, oh well yet another reason to not even bother entering a tesco.
Super value have the box of 20 bottles for 19 euro and 8 cans for 13 euro, not sure if cheaper in Dunne's or not
