And because the way the world works, I cannot rent the damn movie when it releases on video because of no more Xtra Vision. So the only way I can see it without buying it on disc is either wait until the end of the year for it to show up on Sky Movies, or see it tomorrow, because the reviews have convinced me to see just how bad the movie will be. It'll probably take a lot for this to make me hate a movie more than The Amazing Spiderman films.

I watch enough good movies, I need to balance it with big nonsense like BvS every now and again.
Also, bad movies are things like Adam Sandler movies or, worse again, Rob Schneider, people need a sense of perspective

This is exactly it, big nonsense is damn entertaining! I love a big loud stupid, fighting filled movie.
Enjoy life people, don't be so serious :)

But do avoid those adam sandler movies, they give you cancer.

    Edit:
    Anyway, I watched BvS tonight.

Was it a great movie? No.
    Was it terrible? No.
Did I enjoy it? Sure, for what it was.
Affleck is a damn good Batman and I'm looking forward to a proper Batman movie with him in it, Cavill is a pretty wooden plank in a Superman suit.
Eisenberg, FFS!!, this guy, how does he get work?

I'd love to punch that guy in the face right now. But I can't, you know, because I'd get in trouble. I bet you get a lot of that on "Let's Make A Deal."

Yeah... I won't be going to see BvS:DofJ and I went to see that last Fantastic Four movie.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,120 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

I'm the opposite, couldn't bring myself to go see Fantastic Four, but I'll grudgingly go to see BvS...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭DinoRex

Fantastic Four had some pretty neat body horror stuff in there. Was an interesting angle to take.

Would be curious to see what the directors original version was going to be like before he was kicked off.

You can spot the re-shoots a mile off as they gave Kate Mara an atrocious wig because she'd cut her hair short for another role by then.

It may be a horrible mess, but it's a vaguely interesting mess.

Also it's running time is just 100 minutes opposed to the 150 minutes of Dawn of Justice.

There's me with my PhD struggling in a high tech high stress job when I could be earning significantly more driving a luas.

I dunno, would you be able to work the "Go/Stop" button? :)

    That's incredibly unfair, man.

There's also an 'open/close' door button for when the passenger ones fail.

I'm pretty sure I could replace a Luas driver with a Raspberry Pi, bit of coding and maybe some wire to connect to the "Go/Stop" button(ok, and the "Open/Close" button :))
And no need for the fancy pants Raspberry Pi 3, no, a Pi Zero should do the job :)

Since we're on the topic of movies, I was telling a friend wednesday of how I yearn for a Terminator Movie set in 2029 with the same environment and aestethic as the intro to The Terminator and to a lesser extent Terminator 2.

**** Terminator Salvation, I want to see Cameron do a feature length move with something as dark as this:

The money and technology simply wasn't there to dedicate a full length film to it back then, but these days theres no excuse.

Absolutely love the scene of the skulls getting crushed by the machines, now thats what I call a dystopian future.

It should be shot a night time too with plasma rifles lighting up the world.

Luas driving not stressful? Have you never seen how determined every second car and every second pedestrian is to run into them?

Alas, the Terminator film we all wanted which never saw the light of day.

Might be a good time to make it now with all the 80's fantasy nostalgia going on.

The only thing that can really run into a tram on the green line are yummy mummys pushing their 4X4 style off road buggies and sheep.

Well...I've got words to say about Batman v Superman...unfortunately, they are not kind words. Pure '90's comic wankery. Superman is broken. Batman just as much so. Wonder Woman...not so much, actually. Eisenberg as Lex is about as terrible as you'd expect him to be, as they seemed to have smashed his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg with The Joker. He also hates the heroes, because...reasons. Never clearly explained why. And then there's Doomsday, which is actually pretty accurate, considering how much of a one note character he was in his initial appearance, so either way, not good.

I mean, people seem to give Batman and Robin a lot of derision, but after the release of this movie (and the subsequent treatment of Batman in modern era as this dark, brooding, gritty, crack no jokes guy and people seemed to have latched onto because of those reasons), I'd be happy to see a movie like that after viewing this. Make no mistake, this is quite possibly the absolute worst DC related thing to ever have been put on the big screen.

I've heard that at one point Batman sends Wonder Woman an email.

I just seen it and thought it was good haha , yeh you could pick it apart , but it's a film with a guy dressed as a bat in it. I hated man of steel when I first seen it , it grew on me after a few watches , but apart from a couple of confusing dream sequences I really enjoyed it.

I was actually talking about that on Thursday, someone thought they had shingles under their arm and I was saying it could have been what Retr0 had.
Eventually after an hour we convinced them to go to the Dr.

If you are ever in doubt, and don't want to spring for a Dr just yet, calling into your local pharmacy is a good idea, costs nothing and, if it doesn't require a prescription to treat, you'll save even more.
For kids, a phone call to your local paediatric ED will often give good advice and save on a trip.

I had said Boots because there is a cubicle in there for privacy if you want something checked. They just got their medical card tbh it wouldn't do then any harm getting a general check up with their new GP there's other problems that could get checked too.
I usually go to the chemist first myself.

This turned up on NintendoAge couple of days ago. A friend of a well known collector, Tim Atwood for those who might have heard of him, has an ongoing thing on the forums about claiming to have some incredibly rare games and has been accused of lying quite a few times.

Tim allowed his friend to put up this pic.....

    Pretty unreal to see really.
