World has gone mad. The prices lately have gotten ridiculous

This would go for 10 euro or less a year or two ago. 35e now with 8 hours left on the auction for one of the most common games ever

You just bought the Vita port of Enemy Unknown just now, haven't you?

    There's a Vita port?

I've always had a XCom problem. I tried the original game to give it a go a few years ago to see what the fuss was, a lot of PC publications at the time were calling it the best game ever. A quick go turned into an 80 hour gruelling fist fight against the alien menace and I can see why it's regarded as one of the best games of all time.

I started the new one a few years ago but got distracted after I performed terribly. I've started playing again recently and I'm addicted again. Had to restart (I'm playing on iron man) but that's part of the fun. It's also the canon ending for the sequel so I'm counting it as a win :P

Yahoo Auctions Japan tbh.. I'm happy with my minimal retro collection and enjoying the rest via emulation but if you wanted to pick up more it seems like the most sensible route. Pretty things in good condition needn't cost you an arm and a leg and the extra effort involved keeps the casual fans with too much disposible income out of the equation.

So...Batman v Superman is getting thrashed by the critics. It...kinda makes me want to go see it now, just to see how bad it really is...also because Xtra Vision is no more, and I don't want to wait almost a year before I can catch it on Sky Movies. Will it be worse for me than The Amazing Spiderman movies? We'll see...we'll see.

Just looked at Google there and it's getting good reviews and not so good ones, not exactly thrashed.
Variety gave it a pretty good review tbh, and most seem more ticked off that is isn't fast and light like Deadpool or Antman, some looking forward to the next Marvel movie.
At which point they'll express annoyance that Marvel movies aren't thoughtful enough.

The good reviews make it sound like exactly the film I thought it would be.
The bad reviews seem like the typical review from people who didn't like the tone of MoS and were unlikely to like this either.

But this time, even the critics are stating that this one isn't even well made, with the first hour being the worst example. There are moments that have very little bearing on the plot and are never mentioned again, the movie has been described as a total slog to get through, and any ambiguity left regarding what Superman means post Man of Steel has been pissed away, as the movie seems to double down on the issues that critics addressed in the first feature.

I don't think those critics are necessarily annoyed that the movie isn't a colourful, vibrant, Marvel-like feature. Because that would be stupid to think that, and because we've already seen a well reviewed Batman trilogy before that which was the opposite. It just seems that BvS is a bad movie on all fronts, from a general moviemaking standpoint, to character assassination, even towards Batman.
The breaking of the no gun rule being a prime example.

Apparently Ben Affleck is the second best thing in this(Gadot being the best, surprisingly) and plays a pretty awesome Batman. A dark, older, battle hardened Batman who's seen some s***.

Bale was never batman to me, sounds like affleck might just hit the spot.

    Edit:
Also, they should have saved a bit of money and replaced Cavill with a well built good looking plank of wood :)

Been a busy couple of weeks but got a bit of time to have a good fiddle with a very unloved 2ds. Think nintendo have given up on trying to combat the hackers as its now possible to fully install cfw on the systems.

Long and drawn out but a very good learning expieriance into what makes the 3ds tick.

And before the eyepatch allegations get thrown. Ive only installed games i own on it.

Ive another 3ds for the rest

I better hack one of my 3DS systems, really want to play the fan translation of Beyond the Labyrinth. It's an absolute crime Konami never localised that game.

I still got a spare one lying around after I bought the New 3DS. I could give a go installing some custom stuff.

It would actually give me an immense amount of pleasure to see Batman v Superman fail. Not because I think Zack Snyder is a terrible director, although I do (albeit at least not just another interchangeable workman like Marvel hire). No, it would be glorious to see it fail because of the sheer cynicism behind its production. Far too many reviews for comfort say it's basically a glorified trailer for another half dozen DC films. These films don't exist to be good films anymore, and by almost all accounts 'good' seems like a pretty generous description for BvS. They exist to just get people into cinemas time and time again for years to come, and this is evidently just WB playing catch up with Marvel (who, while shrewd operators, at least reached their inevitable destination at a less aggressive or transparent pace). But alas it won't fail - marketing has ensured it won't.

On the plus side, the absolutely fantastic Court is getting a welcome if belated release in the IFI tomorrow. The antithesis of Snyder maximalism, and all the better for it.
