I think he was taking the piss out of me at that stage, but his other offers on stuff look genuine..Still stumped how he ended up on the ad.

Stupid people absolutely exist. They're all over the place.

They're mostly concentrated in Cork though.

I want it noted that if I ever utter the words "I'll have to clear it with the missus first", especially on a €50 offer, I would like someone to find me and hit me over the head with something...

So here's a very interesting video. I'm sure everyone is aware of old PC CGA display. That horrible, garish 4 colour display that displays everything in black, white, pink or very light blue. It looks really awful. However look what happens when CGA is displayed in Composite instead of RGB. It's another one of those weird perceptions people have about old videogame visuals, like how old games looked like big blocky pixels due to emulation and sharper LCD monitors. The composite CGA one however is even more dramatic:

    That was fantastic viewing.
I remember those visuals from the early days of my computer use, or selecting the CGA option in error when playing PC games in the early 90s.
It's not dissimilar to the phenomenon of people now being accustomed and so underappreciated 8 and 16 bit game visuals because they've only ever played them on an LCD panel, missing the resolution hike and lag free bonus offered by a CRT, as well as colour depth and contrast that's unbeatable via RGB.

Any love for Ash vs Evil Dead here? I watched it over the weekend, & went in with low expectations - I actually loved it! It's true to its roots in that its an ultra gory, over the top romp mixed with horror and comedy, and while there are some cg effects, much of it is practical too which is refreshing. Campbell reprised the character of Ash like the movies were made a year or two ago...and while Ash isn't particularly complicated, he does hold a strong nostalgic charm for any fans of the original cult movies. Excellent stuff, and nice to see them go with the only network who would allow them the level of violence and gore they wanted to show...not that I'm a fan of violent gore hound stuff, I just commend their decision in this very watered down film/tv era we live in today.

Oh yeh, i was all over this when it came out. love the original 3 and the Ash character, i thought they did a great job with it, they held back on using digital effects all over the place and as a result it looked amazing and fit in great with the films. The comedy is spot on and Ash is great as ever. Cant wait for season 2!

Yep, I'm about halfway through the show and enjoying it. It's a pity they cant reference the the Army of Darkness movie as I think someone else holds the rights to that one.

Noticed that myself throughout, that references was absent. From further reading, it does seem there's a rights issue which is unfortunate.

There is BUT i watched a panel with them all, probably from ComicCon or something, and they said they are working on it and expect to resolve it eventually, which would be cool because i think Army of Darkness is my favorite of the 3.

I was in Gamestop Swords yesterday and, oh my, things just got worse.
Where as previously they had everything on shelves, with a certain system that allowed you to find the cheap 360/PS3 new titles in one spot, preowed in another, now they have just stepped back in time.
In the centre aisle of the shop, where the shelves once lived, they now have big rectangular shiny chrome bins, like the things Smyth's use for their increasingly poor condition preowed stuff, and all the PS3, PS4, 360, XB1 and Wii/U titles are in there.
Browsing for games is now an utter pain.
I wonder what halfwit convinced their line manager that this would be a good idea.

I'm pretty much on top of my 360 and PS3 collection so I'm glad I don't have to trawl through gamestop anymore. I've everything I'll ever want on 360 and on PS3 I've only a few new games to pick up, mostly the weird and wonderful late release RPGs.

I started off my PC life with a CGA computer/monitor combo, still have some love for that eye searing cyan and majenta!

It's fantastic! :D The perfect mix of horror, cheese and schlock that made the original movies so fun! (Even if the original Evil Dead wasn't intentionally cheesy)

No way man, the best is definitely Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn!!!
