The end of the 6z GFS is quite nice. Too bad its way in FI, and the 6z. :pac:
Be interesting to see if the 12z and ECM follow suit (though still way too early).

Both the ECM and GFS 00z do show a similar trend though...Atlantic low after Atlantic low barreling through. Some nasty ones too. Would be more worried about the rain at this stage rather than the wind.

Yeah theres some support from the ensembles for high pressure to build around the middle of the month.

Would certainly be nice to see brighter, calm days again.

But sadly there is indeed a handfull of rain to get through first.

The jet stream moves a bit southward before moving up across us again, at least that's the forecast, lets see.

Irish sea still relatively warm 12c, so streamers are possible, depending on slackness and shadows.

But surely to Drop off in favour of Atlantic storms.

    Basic meteorology says no
Look at how high the pressure is..
Scandi highs need to be further north

Severe south coast storm on the 12Z GFS. Deep low tracking right over the country.

Still there on the 18Z GFS, but this time it's southern England that gets battered.

Big 1050 mb high building on ECM days 5 to 10, north of Norway and drifting slowly southwest. Could start to become a player in about ten days if it really develops that way. If it links through to the Azores high then the Atlantic will get shut down.

    Ireland is SW of Norway
If it becomes a big flabby low that sinks over us there will be no cold but there will be a welcome drying and respite from the floods

Also the last few runs GFS has kept an eastern Scandi /Russian high in play where a few days ago it was being pushed right back to central Russia.

Its very cold here in Southern Poland, Currently -14c at 11am. Had -19c last few nights too.
