Hopefully they sort it, was very surprised with their returns procedures, seems pretty poor. I worked with Apple processing warranty repairs and it was made very simple for the customer, HTC seem to make you jump through hoops, and if they determine that it's not a warranty related issue, charge you to give you the phone back unrepaired!

I have sent a HTC One S back to HTC after Meteor were hopeless and have to say they were super, I really couldn't fault them and basically got a new phone back plus emails to tell me what stage it was in repair and a week after I got it back I got a courtesy call to see if I was happy with the service. There was no jumping through hoops.
AFAIK any company will not fix an item if is out of warranty and not charge you...hence it's under warranty! From what I know if the phone has been "modified" in regards as been flashed or the phone has been tampered with they will return it.

Well Samsung have really started to Apple-ise their products. The Note now has a rom that changes state if the device is flashed but does not revert if you re-apply Samsung stock firmware.

They are the first to do this in android in order to determine if you modded the phone and are suspected of doing it in order to potentially refuse warranty claims (even on hardware faults like headphone jacks).

    HTC does not have this.

Snapchat users, how do I take a screenshot?

The normal Lock + home button worked before but doesn't now since an update or two ago, nor does the Lock + volume down...

I have to agree 100% here, my wife had an issue with her HTC One V and they were absolutely flawless, fantastic support.

    Oh god!
i've had a nightmare with HTC support, they're shocking. Took them 7 weeks to get the my phone picked up , they kept setting up new tt's to deal with it. I messaged them on face book, sent a mail via their web site, actually wrote a letter to their office in London. Eventually I had to post the phone back to them.

Anyway, i really like my HTC One S. Moral of the story is , stay on top of them, make sure that the tech guys can see the courier is booked to collect your phone.

You were just unlucky, I found them to be fantastic, couldnt fault them at all.

Yes, they do. They have a tampered tag on the bootloader screen.

Eh? The HTC One does, so do a few others. My Nexus 7 shows it too.

    What are you talking about?

OK my bad, just saw an article on some site taking about (I think) Knox security and how Samsung were the only ones to make this notification irreversible.

If I'm wrong, sorry. Mea culpa.

Just got my hands on my 3rd HTC One. Can anyone tell me if its possible to get one of these pieces of crap where the front face is actually properly aligned and doesn't have overhangs with the polycarbonate centre. I know I sound childish but from using the other 2 and how I hold a phone it causes serious irritation throughout a days use & the rubbing of skin on sharp metal corners becomes very uncomfortable. Its seriously pissing me off at this stage I can't find one thats made properly. HTC tout the build quality of the One but frankly they haven't got a patch on Apple.

At least this one, for the 1st time, doesn't have a ridge between the glass and the speakers like a porch step. Congratulations HTC.

Has anyone sent theres back for the misaligned front face and had it actually repaired properly. I love the One hence I keep coming back but its getting stupid at this stage.

    Huh ?

Has it been repaired ? Sounds like it was repaired badly then. I have no issues with the build quality of mine what so ever.

    Eh?

I've one myself, and sold literally dozens and I've never heard of anything like this. Was the phone damaged/broken or repaired at any point?

The HTC One is of an immaculate build and quality, was surpassing the current iPhone 5C and even the 5 to many people.

    ... really?

How can you if it's been such a bad experience for you?

I just bought it from a guy with full receipt. Its legit (matching IMEI etc) and only 3 weeks old so it wouldn't have had a chance to be in and out from repair. He was a reputable seller but I asked him in detail and repeatedly if it had overhangs & he said no. And it bloody does. Too tired of this build quality game to return it to him and go on another wild One hunt up and down Ireland.

I'm going to put a black brushed metal Greatshield Terra case on it (link below and on sale, metal so it maintains the awesome looks of the One) which looking at the bottom might shield my pinkie from the bare metal but frankly its the BMW of smartphones and this is now 3 in a row where its just not up to scratch.

Re the build quality V the iphone I've not tested the 5s yet but honestly anyone who buys a 5c deserves what they get. This captures what I think of it :)

For me its the perfect match of tech and design, a better iphone than the iphone. If only I could get one that was aligned although as I said above this one has the screen alignment right for a change so I'm getting there. Maybe by number 12.

OK, I found what I think was the article was I saw the other day (or one about the same thing anyway).

    It's something called the 'eFuse'.

And Motorola look like they're doing it too.

After following both the htc one thread and the galaxy s4 thread back when they started I am so happy I didn't go for the HTC One.
For the past month every second post is a complaint or a fault.
No where near as much problems showing up on the S4's.
And yes I know the One was out a small bit before the S4 but the amount of issues people are having seems like a lot.
By the way I didn't go for the S4 either I'm waiting for the Note 3 To be out for another while to iron out bugs and drop in price a bit.
My father picked up the S4 though and it is a serious bit of gear.

After following both the htc one thread...

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

just out of interest, have you ever had problems with the power / standby button? The one on my Desire S went, so did my wifes. It went on my One S as well. The glass and the frame etc are perfect, just the power button seems a bit weak.

No real issues I can think of really.

I'll admit to having only found one real annoyance with the phone, which is the position of the power button on it. As a left-hander, it can be slightly tricky to reach.

But really, if that's the only genuine flaw I have with it, then it's a massive case of first world problem.

Anybody notice any problems with blinkfeed recently. Have configured a couple of different sources but only appears to be updating twitter sources. Adding and removing a topic seems to refresh everything?

There is 1 poster who keeps complaining and we still havent got to the bottom of the issue. 3 phones?? Bit suspect no.

And even at that he is buying second hand units of god knows who.

Ive had mine since it came out not a days issue with it. The build quality is second to none and its no comparison to the Plastic S4 of which my mother has and several of my friends. Ive had the HTC Legend / HTC Desire / Samsung S2 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. And build quailty wise the HTC one beats them all hands down.

I still prefer the power button to be on the side but hey i cant win em all..

    Ya just can't win :)

I know three people apart from myself with a HTC One and none have any issues whatsoever.
S4 might be a nice bit of gear but but its not a patch on the HTC one.
