Better map, not official btw, and it compared to IV's.

You've posted the image twice, I spent 5 minutes trying to spot the difference :D

This is the overlay. Kinda hoping there is a taxi service. Would hate to have to drive the far end of the map for something simple.

Well there will be helicopters and planes to help shorten the journey.
Imagine how much a taxi from one end of the map to the other would cost!

Not if you can put a gun to the taxi driver's head

Just cannot wait to drive for miles and miles, just taking it all in.

What game are you playing boy? I don't think I have ever hired a hooker in a GTA game without killing her after the happy ending to get my money back.

Same would apply to taxi drivers minus the happy ending.

Remember that mission for Cesar? Drive 10 real minutes to the middle of nowhere, take a few pictures and drive 10 real minutes back.

I know the idea was to make you explore the map, but it was annoying as fcuk.

All I have been playing lately is Episodes from Liberty city lately and I would spend a lot more than 10 minutes just driving in a F360. Maybe get in a chase with the fuzz then lose them. Another way chase. Its just been able to pick up a GTA game and mess about like that what make it great. I wish there was an achievement for driving around the whole outskirts of the city at speed without getting a scratch.

That's just super imposed without any sense of scale.
    This is the scaled version.

Jaysus that's scary. I just clicked on Professional Griefers link and copied the next image. With that scale, and an open map, I can see it being a few weeks before anyone actually starts playing missions!

Have they said whether or not Home Invasion will make a return?

Since they're going down the whole "heist" route, it'd be cool if you could rob homes too. Maybe expand on the SA stuff by giving you the choice of sneaking in while they sleep, wait until they leave, or burst through the front door and try and stop them reaching the phone...

Robbing homes would he fun, although when my jet arrives outside id say they will kinda notice me!

I got a magazine with a San Andreas preview in it about a month before it was released and remember reading it every single day. Just in awe of it. Still remember the article almost word for word.

I think I remember that magazine myself :)
I remember buying a PS2 just for this game. Had an xbox up to that point. I bought one in September '04 and it was the massive original unit. It developed a fault and I got it exchanged the week before San Andreas. They replaced it with the brand new slimline version that was about 1/3 the size :)

I used to borrow my cousins PS2 when I wanted to play GTA III or VC.

"Hey cousin? You wanna go play some Vice City?" :pac:

I ended up buying my first 360 for GTA IV, won't be buying any new hardware this time though, will be waiting for the PC release as I'm sick of using sub-par systems to play games. The console manufacturers much be shaking Rockstar's hands with some serious cash to keep it off PC for so long every time one of these games comes out given the amount of hardware they're responsible for selling :D

Sub-par? Are PCs better then? You guys kept that quiet.

It is and always has been designed for a console. PC users are the minority. Consoles is where the money comes from.

Out of interest, how quickly would you change your tune if it was announced that they had no plans on releasing a PC port? Would you climb down from that pedestal and join in with a "sub-par" system or just go without?

Have you heard that the graphics are fairly good on PCs these days?
