Class comparison vid between GTA V and Max Payne 3 combat mechanic. MP3 had a great system so really looking forward to an updated version in V.

GTAV mechanics look much more fluid.Keep an eye on the legs when the video is slowed down. There is a much better "step over" motion.

Out of interest, how quickly would you change your tune if it was announced that they had no plans on releasing a PC port? Would you climb down from that pedestal and join in with a "sub-par" system or just go without?
I'd be going without, it would be madness to buy an end of life console just to play one game. I'd probably stop playing rockstar games altogether if they denied us GTA V. They got plenty of money out of PC users, sales shoot up again when mods come out so it has a longer shelf life on PC than it does on console.

Rockstar would also open the door for something to replace the GTA series on PC meaning they'd never have that market again. A PC centric GTA type game could become something incredible, maybe the makers of ARMA could look into a GTA style game as they've done a lot of the core work already.

Lol. I don't believe that for a second.

How much would a 360 or PS3 cost on adverts.ie? They would be even cheaper now that it is a end of life console.

To think that a PC gamer would stick their nose up at what is looking like the best game ever made because its not available on PC is even greater madness than picking up a secondhand end of life console on adverts.ie. That would be a true Sherlock moment

Everyone's favourite guy to hate Sean Sherlock or a brooding Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock?

I wouldn't buy a console, I don't see the point, I already have the best gaming machine and it goes against my ethos of not buying junk I don't need. All I have is a PC, it does everything I need and hate the thought of having a load of extra boxes that I might use for a few weeks and never again.

There are very few games I play anymore, I've become tired of the majority of big releases. Max Payne couldn't hold my interest for example, COD lost it's way back when it went to modern warefare.

It's all about sim racing now, got a good wheel and pedal set and the games could keep me occupied for years. I'd make time for GTA V if it comes out on PC but I certainly won't be buying a redundant piece of hardware for it.

In the context of that quote is all. Anyways, I'd agree with you that PC's have tremendously better capabilities than PC, but as long as you get ****e like Origin, and to an extent Steam (which is tragically under developed), you'll see consoles getting a priority. Consoles are easier to work with from a dev perspective, easier to sell to consumers, and easier to track & iterate on, all because of the locked in system. Thats just the way it is. You may have to wait a while for GTA V. But... if you buy like a second hand Xbox, you'd be good to go. I'm sure your GFX card cost more than that tbh.

Bar GTA there are few games left I want to play. Games like ARMA and rFactor have ruined my ability to play console style games.

That's just marketing talk from the consoles promoting their way of doing things. PCs are harder to use but I see PCs as a more pro level of gaming, the best is always more complicated, expensive and requires more input from the user.

It probably did but then my PC is a video editing machine so it's way over powered for playing games. I earn money with my PC, so it's paying me back for the money I invested in it. 16gb of ram, SSD hard drive, beyond HD graphics, 2 metre projector for playing games on. I couldn't go back to consoles after getting used to that kind of power and flexibility.

The best is what you get out of it, if you can play the games you want, and the way you want to. For GTA V, the game you want to play isn't available on PC, and it hasn't been announced. I'm sure it will arrive, but not for a while.

I have a very capable machine, more than 8gb ram, ssd etc, a fairly large game library on Steam, but I still go back to my xbox because its easy, and it separates my work from gaming (& because I hate switching the OS into windows but thats besides the point).

Question though, if you have a projector, how have you your desk setup for gaming, assuming you use a mouse & keyboard? Because thats what really makes a gaming PC different, graphic differences dont often affect the core gameplay. I get mauled for instance if I use my Xbox controller playing BF3 on PC but not so on Xbox.

So you're actually not going to be playing GTA 5 when it comes out in September, and maybe not at all if it doesn't come out on PC ?

I can wait. It'll be worth it.

I have a 27" monitor that I can sit at and play sims or FPS or I can plug the keyboard/mouse into the front of the PC and use it from a chair. I wouldn't play an FPS on an xbox controller though, I'm just not able too, it feels wrong after growing up on K/M. The projectors more for the likes of GTA, Batman or Assassins creed.

When I'm not wasting money on different boxes for different things and TV packages I can concentrate on making an all round entertainment/work PC, I can use it for work, gaming, films and it even has a remote control so I can control it from the couch. It's been built up slowly over the course of 10 years but it's at a stage now where it's pretty ideal and bar maybe upgrading the graphics card in a year or two there's not much that's going to happen in the next few years that would force me to do any sort overhaul on it. The last PC I built like this lasted me the best part of ten years (I'm even still using bits of it).
I didn't spend 10 years building an uber rig just to go out and buy a smelly console! :pac:

So is mine but I don't flop it out for the whole world to see :)

Current gen graphics are ample for me, it is a game after all.

Do we know for sure if the ps3 will display the game in 1080?, unlike skyrim and red dead.

I've a feeling we may see a delay in the PS4. They have still to give an official release date.

Not that it will affect us and GTAV !! :P
