What you think of this one lads. It's another chancer for me.

Either you bought it yourself in the last few minutes or more likely somebody else must have I'm afraid. Looked clean enough though

He says it's taxed but tax runs out this Friday, bargain :D
Still a good price if car is in good shape.

Sorry to ask this on thread but what are the Laguna 1.9td engines like?
There are a few floating around with fairly big mileage for handy money, but they might be more trouble than they're worth?!
Would normally stay away from French cars but afaik it's normally the electrics cause issues and the engines are strong enough..

I have a volvo v40 diesel with the same laguna engine, turbos give a lot of trouble especially if oil isnt changed often and with fully synthetic oil. Big mileage could be a time bomb.

So would a service history be a must?

The tax would make you sick but what a great way to get around. Tenner says its bought for near enough half the asking .....

Not a clue what these are like but I kinda like it, rare enough.

Plenty NCT and could surely be gotten for ~500. Perfect for some summer cruising with the roof off!

Haven't seen one in ages but spotted a red one on DD the other night too. Retro cool at this stage. Be worth it for a laugh over the summer alright. A nice cheap Mazda MX3 would be in the same vein (ish, no targa), but no nice ones on DD recently...

To be fair, Cavan has some nice pothole-free roads, even the backroads and boreens, many's a night spent driving round that neck of the woods

If it were anywhere in Meath, then I'd be weary :P I really must get some pics of the roads up here, all neglected

You can probably get this '05 407 for about €1,500

    View2-15332806.jpeg

No demand for these cars at all, so I'd negotiate hard. Make an offer that only stands if the owner pays for the NCT and the car passes...

That particular one has a new interior and new rear light clusters. What is up with that? Flood damage? Driver seat looks immaculate alright.

If the seller put a two year test on that they'd be mad to entertain an offer of €1500, they wouldn't need to either me thinks.

Well you might be right. Who knows there might be a buyer out there happy to buy at the asking price. If I were interested, I'd sit tight for a few weeks hoping and expecting the car not to sell and then come in with an offer ;)

    I sniff a bargain here and I don't sniff often :D

Yes it's tattier than Joan Burtons face but it's about as cheap as cheap motoring gets. Offer €280 and chance the NCT in April. If you're struggling at the moment trying to run your own car this could be ideal.

Ya thought as much from the square plates. Pretty unique compared to a celica, nearly nicer looking too imo, or maybe it's just because it's different:)

First time posting, but I've been lurking for ages. I particularly love this thread.

Saw that yoke go for 150 at auction there a couple of months ago. It was merlin auctions by the way.

A few days later I saw it up as "a real bargain" at about 950. Now it's going with NCT.

Reading the ad and knowing what I know about the car just makes me more wary for the future I suppose.

Love tan seats on an alfa! Might see how much extra it is to insure this. What's the 1.6 engine in this (currently 1.2 polo that's driving me insane!) or is it to small for the car? Car looks to be in Unreal condition and with 13 months nct might be worth it!:)

It's not too bad. 120BHP is more than most similar size engines of that era and the 1.6 revs up nicely. The 156 is fairly light too.

Why would someone convert it and sell it the next day? Bit odd!
