Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil is on Irish Netflix now, just in time for Holloween. Very funny movie, don't watch the trailer though as it spoils all the gags.

It's really funny. Some of death scenes had me in tears.
    Wood cutter in particular
    .

Did this ever get a cinema release? Considering the sh!te that makes it into the cinema, it's a scandal if it didn't. This would have been perfect for a Halloween release. Shame.

Don't think it got much of a cinema release anywhere, a scandal indeed. Seems to be garnering a nice cult following though at least.

Meeks Cutoff, Beverley Hills Cop, Bad Ass, Twelve O'Clock High, Casino Royale, Grapes Of Wrath, Manhattan, Baron Fink and loads of others added to US Flix.

It's probably worth noting that this is the spoof 1967 David Niven Casino Royale and not the recent Daniel Craig version! It seems all the older Bond films that were added about a month ago have expired which is a shame as I had been meaning to watch a few.

Not a lot on the telly tonight, so watched Hard Candy with Ellen Page. Not the typical kinda thing I'd watch but it's not bad. Some parts are very well done, especially
where she has him ties on a table with a bag of ice on his nuts, telling him she's going to castrate him.

    I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
After three weeks of chatting with the thirty-two year old photographer Jeff Kohlver over the Internet, fourteen year old Hayley Stark meets him in the Nighthawks coffee shop. Hayley flirts with him in spite of the age difference and proposes to go to his house. Once there, she prepares a screwdriver for them and Jeff passes out. When he awakes, he is tied up to a chair, and Hayley accuses him of pedophilia. Jeff denies the accusation, and Hayley begins to torture him in a cat and mouse game.

I watched Trailer Park of Terror on UK netflix tonight and was pleasantly impressed - for a film that could, and by rights should, have been a dreadful load of old arse given its title and basic premise, this was a lot more fun than I expected. The performances are mostly a lot better than you'd expect from any kind of slasher/teen horror film too, and there's a good streak of Rob Zombie-esque humour throughout that keeps it ticking over at a decent enough pace.

Worth a watch if you like House of 1000 Corpses or Devil's Rejects.

Two superior French thrillers are Point Blank (2010) - Taken without the cartoon silliness; see it before it apparently gets Mark Wahlberg'd - and Tell No One (2006) - a more cerebral and intricate offering.

Ah yes, back when Jennifer Lopez looked like she could be a real actress. Not only is it effortlessly cool, it's pretty damn funny too.

Watched 50/50 last night. Very good film and IMO Seth Rogans best performance yet. Underrated film as didn't hear much about it during last years release.

Indeed, she really shines in this, its Clooney's show though, love the time period shifting aspect of it, going from Florida to Detroit and back. And the supporting cast are all excellent, Ving Rhames, Steve Zahn, Denis Farina, Michael Keaton, Don Cheadle,Catherine Keener, Luis Guzman and Albert Brooks is his usual dependable self, some great character actors in there.

Great film, solid cast and a cool soundtrack. It really covers a lot of the effects cancer has not just on the sick person but also his friends and family. Anna Kendrick really shone in this for me.

Fair play to them, 21 Jump Street was only out in the cinema about 6 months ago, wouldn't have expected them to get it so quickly.

I enjoyed the film itself, t'was entertaining enough and got a few chuckles out of me for the duration. Recommend it if you're looking for something not so serious with a few laughs.

Was every single one of his lines in the film an attempt at a smart onliner?

+1 for Lockout. Guy Pearce makes the film. If they did remake Escape from New York (and I hope they dont), he would be great as Snake.

Some of the CGI effects are shocking bad, unless they were going for the extreme cartoon look on purpose. It is worth noting that the effects house was Windmill Lane (Irish effects company).
