    Made silly money no doubt?

A friend of mine completely restored one, then his misses started using it around the farm and liked it, he got pissed off, bought another, restored that and gave it to her lol.

We've a blue '65 Super Dexta in the yard. You need to dip a length of newspaper in diesel and light it and then shove it up the air intake to get the thing to start if its a cold day.

More than likely could have gotten more for that in the morrow, but i did see a minter go for 2,500. The rear panels and wheels all add up very quickly. Not to mind tyres

I kid, sh*t like that can be scary. Especially when you realise how close you actually came to wrecking something completely.

You know the air intake on that car is beside where the passenger foglight would be (if it was a decent spec)
I used to avoid puddles in that car for that reason

DId the doors keep the water out? impressive if so, how it didn't die with the intake sucking water I can't fathom.

Or that scrap yard in kilcock, or similar outfit closer to you.

So it could be a loose connection is that it? How would I go about checking that? Thanks for taking the time to reply too :)

Thanks for that and taking the time to reply, would it make a difference if it was a potentiometer for a 1.8 or 1.6 or are they all the same? Spoke to a guy in Killkenny earlier through partfinder.ie and he has the part for about €100 with a 7 day warranty. Sound like a good deal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,865 ✭✭✭✭MuppetCheck

If the part works it's a lot better deal than €750 from Alfa!

If a quick fix can be done like in the other thread it may be worth calling an Alfa specialist to see if they are familiar with it.

according to this they're the same from O3 on for the 1.6 and the 1.8, http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=110889474478&index=1&nav=SEARCH&nid=04424976912, yours is older though so dunno. 100 from lad in killkenny seems ok. 7 day warranty is fair enough if you get it fitted within that time.
