    What?

The law was enacted due to pressure from the Swedish Feminist Initiative Party. Don't think it's so much to do with prostitutes s**ting on their own doorstep as much as outside interests wanting to criminalise men who choose to pay for sex. The easiest way to do it is to paint all women who choose to work as prostitutes as victims.

but in that case its not the prostitute charging the client is it? its the law!

I think so, yeah. The prostitute can bring evidence to the police and I think the law prosecutes the punter. Not 100% sure though. Probably plenty of info about it on Google.

like I said before that would be like ****ing where you work wouldnt it. unless its for to protect against bad people as customers and so the prostitute can 'choose' who gets the book thrown at them and hold onto her good customers. everyone wins except the scumbag who mistreated her :)

Yeah. It's confusing. Not too sure how many convictions have been brought but them's the laws in Sweden now I think.

True. Although I wouldn't have a huge amount of sympathy for the punters. It's illegal in Sweden so just don't do it would be my way of thinking. On the other hand, any forward thinking society should be moving to legalise and regulate it.

I don't think it would create a new Celtic Tiger but yeah every bit helps I suppose. Another interesting fact is that the number of Irish men paying for sex has doubled in the last 10 years, so obviously there's a huge demand for it.

I'd say the Internet has a lot to do with that.

That's true. Sex is very accessible these days. Technology will eventually advance to the stage where men will be able to download a prostitute into their home.

Not if The MPAA Ruhama have their way, you won't.

And P2P would stand for "Prostitute To Punter" rather than "Peer To Peer" as it does now :D

Wow that's amazing! And she won't get on to you over leaving the toilet seat up.:D Ruhama should work on getting these into Ireland. It might reduce the need for prostitutes.
