Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. If it was Hardcore that passed I'd pick and book him to just beat up everyone on my roster under 25

Was watching some hardcore title 24/7 videos recently. :D Those were the days.

Ok, I've decided to go for who I think will be the more flexible in-ring worker as opposed to the more prestigious option. It's probably the toughest decision I've made over last year and this so far, but I reckon I'd be going back and forth every ten seconds for the next year if given the chance. Posting the pick now...

    a great pick TSC.

there's still at least 3 that we should be ashamed of ourselves haven't been picked yet, but maybe it's because they might be tricky to book.

the pre-1970 round could be epic as a result.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

And boom choice number 4 is gone!

My main event story line keeps changing ha! If I get number five on the list then it's going to be another controversial storyline from me again this year ha!

There's one in particular larger than life name still available but before my time so I didn't want to be relying on him for a main event given I wouldn't know an awful lot about him.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,602 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

The "larger than life" guy was my number two, and I know he would have been a bigger name. But I'm more familiar with Umaga and think I can write for him better. The other guy likely would have descended into a racist parody if I had to write him :P

There's also one dead guy I'm really hoping slips by till round 4 or so, cause I think he could be awesome but he's not a big enough name to chose over Umaga or "pick two".

well there's one in particular, and i think we're all thinking of him.

Dont be worrying so much about having to get main eventes or opponents for guys ye have picked already yet lads. by my reckoning everyone should get a pretty big star next round and theres also the pre 70s round too. Plenty time to round out the main events yet.

Well, I'm 14th next round so the "big" guys will defo be gone by then :/ I'll likely get someone well knwon, but at that stage, the biggest names will be long gone ala Eddie and Savage this time...

You might not get the mega stars but youll still be ale to get people who were multpiple world champs and have headlined and sold PPVs in ther own right. Ican think of a few guys you could put against lesnar whod be still available at 14 tbh whod be more than capable of headlining a PPV. Hes a very versatile guy with a lot of fresh feuds due to his short time at the top.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,957 ✭✭✭The Volt

I might struggle a bit down at 18 in this round. Rude and Anderson are great but I still think I need a name a cut above that as a bigger draw.

Oh yeah, agreed there. But my point is I won't get a mega name, and for that reason, this round was important to get a versitile big name who could fight Lesnar in case I get a big name next round for my secondary feud.

    pick coming up shortly

Three picks left and four guys I would have liked at the start of the round still left. So not a bad roud to draw no. 20. Pretty sure I know who the next pick will be judging by his posts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

    Pick made and PM sent!

Happy with Junkyard, he was an amazingly charismatic man and I have a great plan for him that would no doubt land any promoter in hot water before the pay off comes around!

Welk I got that wrong. Looking forward to reading that storyline

it looks like I'll get to start round 3 tonight

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

Primal Nut is online so I won't bother with the PM, Umaga was my first choice for this spot but Yoko is about as good a substitute as you can possibly get get.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,096 ✭✭✭✭the groutch

very good pick, I was considering him, but think I might find it hard to writeup a match for a "big man".

Cena is tailor made for a feud with a big man that can work. I don't plan on it being my main event (but that can always change depending on how the next round goes:)) but it helps add an extra dimension to my roster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

Cena vs Yoko would be a perfect money main event in the 90s. It would be very different to Umaga-Cena but still quite enjoyable, just for the sheer spectical!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,949 ✭✭✭A Primal Nut

Almost got Yokozuna. So close. Anyone else surprised he and Umaga lasted so long?

Is Crash Holly not liked by the IWC or something. Surprised he and Test lasted until the end but I like Crash Holly - he's good fun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

Goodbye Crash, you were fun to work with last year:(

With that, Round 3 now begins!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,602 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Yoko was the guy I was talking about. Really didn't know who to pick between him and Umaga. Such a tough decision...

Test is just a bit too meh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

and that is 1 pick I didn't expect to see so early

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,949 ✭✭✭A Primal Nut

Didn't expect to see Foley go so early either but he is great and I could see why people would pick him to fit certain storylines and feuds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

Wow, did not expect Foley to be taken. Not compalining, because now I'm guaranteed to get one of the two guys I have written down to face Del Rio!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

The Groutch obviously has very specific ideas ahead for Foley.
Him being picked first in this round is as surprising as seeing Sheamus being drafted first last year too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Didn't expect that as the first pick. Was sure it would be another guy. Not sure if I will stick with my original plan now or try to go for the guy I thought would go. I'll try not to keep tbc waiting too long as I weigh up this tasty dilemma.

Not surprised at Shawn Michaels being picked, he's one of 7 or 8 who will definitely go in this round

That's mouth watering at is finest!

Can't believe I'm actually getting the top choice I had for Del Rio since loosing Pillman and others, no way did I think I'd get this main event, it writes itself!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,949 ✭✭✭A Primal Nut

MNGs roster is looking strong. I know who I want and think I might get him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Was originally going to go for a guy who I'm sure will be picked in due course and I'll keep quiet until that pick is made, but HBK and Misawa on a roster together was too tempting to pass up. I think my original plan would have been great in terms of star power but not so much in terms of workrate.

Edit: And one of the three I was torn between now goes. Solid pick there with Austin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

When it comes to personality, Del Rio ad Austin complement each other perfectly, it's a feud I'm really looking forward to booking. Then it's made better by the fact that both men can go in the ring, I think they would be natural rivals creating classic mathes and moments

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,096 ✭✭✭✭the groutch

I can already picture Austin "WHAT?"-ing Ricardo Rodriguez left right and centre.

Some VERY strong rosters so far lads.. Honestly the stips and stuff so far have really given every competitor equally strong rosters and personally i think even moreso this year it'll be about original storylines and great fueds that'll overall win the Draft, rather than "Best Roster"..
