Happy enough with last night, we were never going to annihilate them, and I thought we played some decent stuff at times, shockingly. Though if we don't try and play football against Andorra, we never will. And looking at the Scotland match last night just shows what can happen if you're not totally focused for these 'points in the bag' games.

Slovakia winning in Moscow is slightly worrying, would definitely have preferred a draw there. I still think Russia are a much stronger side, and will top the group regardless. I also think they will absolutely tear us apart, with the pace they've got on the wings (Arshavin running at Kilbane or possibly McShane ) and I've always rated Pogrebnyak up front. I said it then and I'll say it now, Spurs signed the wrong player, he offers so much more then Pavlyuchenko.

So the games against Slovakia will be vital, we can definitely take them, we have done in the not too distant past, and that was under "Tha Gaffor".

But it's early days yet, 2 games, 2 wins, can't ask for any more than that. Onwards and upwards.

I nearly dropped a cup of tea when I saw Ireland to win 1/40. You'll never see that again, that's for sure.

Toshack finally quits Wales. What an idiot, he should have resigned before the qualifiers.

They should be more concerned about facilitating entertaining football that people actually want to (pay to) watch...

Not sure if there's really much they can do about it (I presume you're referring to the world cup here?). I suppose some kind of sin bin for any deliberate infringements near the goal area might help a little.

:( Feel terrible for the Down half of my family, had a fair few of 'em down in Dublin for the match. Dad and my cousins were really hoping they'd win, it's a bit sickening for them but that's the way it is I guess.

Ah now, it was a great match! :pac:

I really wanted Down to win, sickened it didn't end in a draw.
But in fairness, Cork have been there so many times, I'm happy for a lot of the players who have been there for so long.

    football is AWESOME MAAAAAHN!

but yea, I thought the first half was kinda crap seeing as Cork were no-where to be seen.
Like, I was going for Cork at the beginning but half way through the first half I was like "ah now lads, Down deserve to win this more.!"

But then BAM, second half comes and Cork are playing some great shtuff.
Totally overpowering Down. the introduction of Graham Canty seemed to be a factor seeing as he wasn't so great from play but they had that leadership there and experience.
I'd loved if it was a draw but sure, fair play Cork :)

    Anyone watch celebrity bainisteoir tonight?
    Nobber :pac:
Can't wait for Derek from Crystal Swing to be on. Love him :D
Although he's training a Kerry team.... He's from Caaaark.

Yay for Cork! Would have been sickened if Down won, so happy happy. This time next year it'll be Kildare, lads :pac:
