Great match. Murray was maybe a bit unlucky to lose.

Ya it was brilliant! Definately, but he came back very strong went the pressure was on and that's really great for him!

    $$$$$

Seriously, the middle east in mid-July? Nice playing conditions right there. Good thing they don't have a tournament-standard stadium yet. Sepp Blatter needs to fall into a very large hole

A world Cup in Qatar will be strange. Heard yesterday that the matches will have to be played indoors because of the climate. The whole country has a population of 1 million and alcohol is banned so you need a letter from your employer saying that you earn over a certain amount a year before you can but any.

Nope, FIFA is where it's at tbh. I would go as far as to say that FIFA is more important than real football. ¬.¬

True statement there. FIFA and Fianna Fail operate the same system.

And FIFA won't even fix the potholes, at that. :(

It will take a tribunal from the Court of Arbitration to that or the Swiss Government.

Ok, if I was to buy tickets to a rugby match as a Christmas present, what would be the best ones to get? Obviously a 6 nations match would be unreal but they're pretty pricey? So I'm thinking a Munster match...which would be better, Heineken cup or Magner's league? And against who?

Any home Heineken Cup match. The atmosphere in Thomand Park is always unreal for them. I'd suggest an away match but the flights for those weekends are very expensive with Ryanair, and any other airline that would be worthwhile.

    Hopefully that helped

Thank you! :) Any idea when they release the details for the next fixtures though? On the website they only have the matches up to next week...and Munster don't seem to have a home game til round 6 -_-

It's still in the group stages, so it's not definite whether or not any team will get through, which is why you'll only be able to get tickets for up until round 6 now.
If Munster win their group (which is likely enough), they'll get a home quarter final then.

Anyway, you can see all the fixtures here, on the ERC website.

Their only remaining home game is against London Irish. I wouldn't wait til after either as they're unlikely to be a home quarter-finalist if they do advance and a possible home semi-final would have to be held in Dublin. There's a ML game against Ulster in January too if you don't go for the Heineken Cup game. Probably be weakened squads for it though.

Have started the develop the annual pre-season club site obsession. I'm classifying it as 'research' for the blog I'll be doing but really it's just another unnecessary site to visit while I'm p*ssing away my time instead of doing homework. First game of the season is at home to Cobh Ramblers on the 29th at Bishopstown. Until then only the NFL and the occasional cricket/football league highlights show will keep me going. Badly need a dose of live sport again!

Someone else likes cricket! I have a strange love for watching cricket! I think I got hooked on it about 2 summers ago when there was only absolute rubbish on the tv.

Ashes 2005 I got hooked (Exactly the same reason, and it was a hugely exciting series!)

You'd be surprised at how many people have it as their guilty pleasure! I got playing a year or two ago but football has taken over since, hope to get back to it though. It's fantastic craic and the social side to it is excellent (Believe it or not we've had the foreign gender to our training sessions a few times!!)

I've actually been practically counting down to the World Cup secretly for the past year.:o

It is strange to think of many people actually playing cricket for some reason (let alone having some visitors to training) (although there are a few decent looking players around)

I, too, am a big fan of cricket. Some of England's play in this year's Ashes was fantastic.

2005 was rated as one of the most exciting of all time, though.

(Well the whole football thing means I can be sane during the winter :pac: )

There's loads of clubs in Dublin, there's two down here in Cork. I'd definitely go just to try it out. I played with Cork County and didn't really enjoy it but love playing with Harlequins. (Just never committed enough to get proper game time) One of my best buds is a commited Gah head, and frequently wears his local GAA jersey to training (But being the WUM he is he'll also wear his English ODI jersey to Hurling training :pac: )

Ugh, cricket. The most pointless sport ever.
    *Awaits backlash*

So is anyone following the Australian Open?
I didn't even know it was on 'til I heard some results on the radio this morning. And I call myself a tennis fan. :o

[backlash]You call cricket a boring sport and you watch tennis?![/backlash]

Only usually ever follow Wimbledon when it comes to Tennis, mainly because of the Beeb. Can never really get into tennis, even though I keep up with how things are getting on

I never said it was boring. I said it was pointless! And that was a disappointing backlash attempt! :pac:

Tbh I only follow tennis because I have an obsession with Rafa Nadal. He's sooo dreamy. :p
