That happened to me once or twice, except I was fully awake and was able to move. But I wasn't afraid at all, I just said, "Hi, Granny, I've missed you."

If it was a ghoul or some monster, instead of my granny, it must've thought I had taken leave of my senses. It wouldn't have been mistaken, I suppose.

Not sure where this thread went or where it is going but this is my most unnerving true story.

So there I was in total darkness walking up the hill to the graveyard.

To the left of me was a wood and the path up to the gate about 200meters away was in the shade of more trees and just black. The moon shone across the field to my right but any light to the path was blocked by the wood.

The path was really steep and you could work up a real sweat walking up it.

About 20m from the graveyard kissing gate I heard something in the wood then the twang of barbed wire and something shot out in front of me in the darkness near enough I could have touched it. I nearly shat myself. A few moments later I saw a deer in the moonlight as it ran away across the field. I don't know which one of us was more scared.

No big deal about the graveyard I lived one side of it and my mates and the local pub were on the other. Walking there wouldn't have scared me in the least well unless something jumped out on me.

Is that unnerving enough for the OP?

Wake me up when it's all over.

This Thursday morning at 2.30am was the strangest experience I’ve ever had. I had a dream that I was on a fast moving train with my nephew and a very popular and much loved local priest from where I lived and grew up. The priest wanted to jump from the door of the moving train onto the ditch at the side of the railway track so that he could get to his church quicker in time for a ceremony he wanted to perform.

The priest and my nephew jumped from the door of the train. I hesitated at first but then decided to jump with as much force as I could. i ended up in the ditch feeling really sore.

Suddenly I found myself on the floor beside the bed with my OH and my two Jack Russell’s looking at me, with the OH wondering why in God’s name did I jump so violently out of the bed for. I hauled myself to my feet off of the floor and hobbled in pain out to the bathroom.

In the mirror I could see a big abrasion on the right side of my chin. My lower gums to the right hand side of my mouth were bleeding, and my right ass cheek was in considerable pain also as I landed rather hard on my right hand side on the bedroom floor. I hit the ground pretty hard. It was such an unnerving experience for my OH seeing me lying on the floor in pain after jumping out of the bed in my sleep. Luckily I composed myself and hobbled back into bed.

I used to get that often where in bed asleep I'd feel this horrible 'presence' starting to take hold or put pressure on my feet and then legs, and start working it's way towards what I used to think was my crotch, and I'd be terrified but couldn't find my mouth to let out a scream. I was getting them so regular at one point that as soon as I realised it was happening I'd immediately try with all my energy to just blurt out any sort of sound out of my mouth, and I'd immediately wake up. Would still be an unsettling experience even then.

The OH grandmother passed in the summer.

It wasn't sudden and we were waiting for the call, a few days before…. we were at the kitchen table chatting about the grandmother(myself and the OH)

A can of coke just start moving and we both saw it…. and this thing moved about 15 inches, long enough for us to look up and say what the F**K

now this wasn't some movie thing that we got a call that instance to say she passed… it was a few days later, could have been a week, but was just mad.

I will say the kitchen floor isnt level and its what im going off, that there was just enough liquid in the can that was perfect to push gravity a bit…. but still, freaked out.

Another time, years before, we got engaged Easter morning, and same grandmother was down for dinner and we were having a celebration, she asked me to go to the shop to do the lotto.

On the way back I saw a magpie fly across the door, obviously I was in a happy mood and messing, outloud, I shouted at the magpie "you better not ruin my day"

As I opened the door I will never forget the scream of a broken mother, between the shop and back, the grandmother got a call to say her son passed suddenly

Crazy coincidence,,, from that day on any magpie we see, we always call him "Eddie"

Sure is, luckily I haven’t had any recently. Last one was seeing the bedroom door open and some figure coming over to me. Knew it was a dream and that I had to make myself wake up but couldn’t make any noise or move

More a weird coincidence I suppose.

I'm expecting funeral arrangements so I was on the RIP website. They are stil not up but the page was still open. I was absentmindedly doing a little "tap dance" with my fingernails on the phone screen while my attention had returned back to the TV.

When I looked back at my phone there was a picture of a girl I shared a taxi with during my hospital visits (she was very pretty) . In the months since I've often thought about how she's getting on. I only had her first name so it still may not be her but it looks like her, same first name, same place she lived , number of kids (and genders) same hospital.

Just weird I clicked into her.
