I have no doubt there are winners in these types of draws, as I know some woman in her 60s in Derry who didn't drive, won a Lambo.
    https://www.derrynow.com/news/news/556039/derry-woman-who-can-t-even-drive-wins-a-lamborghini-sports-car.html

There is also one at present advertised on the radio for a house in Dunmore East, £20 per ticket.
They say value at 300k. But they are selling 1.6mill worth of tickets for it.

Tidy profit, which all of these draws have.

Nice BMW m sport 5 series 172 for €22.95 on wincar.ie would be a lovely win! I know a few people who have won from this site. Irish registration too.

When did you become affiliated with win car?

The Beemer has a DL plate, so many folk on here wouldn't be interested in winning it;)

You assure us that it's not a scam and you 'know of a few people that have won'

So why are you asking that question?

Isn't this thread a shameless plug for a commercial lottery? You mention 'giveaway' in the thread title. The only giveaway I can see here is mugs handing over their money to invisible and untraceable promoters......

I'm not going to post any links but if you click on 'About Us' on their website, there is zero information on the promoters. No board of directors, no mailing address, no phone number. Nothing.

Will you grow up. You only a begrudger. So all the people playing the lottery ,they are mugs as well. R kings is no different than any other draw or lottery promotions. We all buy a ticket to win. I do R kings every week, guy near me won a lovely motor home , another guy won 2019 BMW. It’s no scam, no one is asking you to buy

Seems to have died a death, Covid easing seems to have finished the raffle interest

I just looked at Oosch there and first 4 below are been drawn tonight and nearly no interest in them. Granted there not great prizes anyway. He doesn't even have a car up at the moment.

I bought a couple of tickets for F80 m3 on pristine competitions but noticed only 1200 out of 14000 tickets sold so far and I doubt will sell out.

    https://www.pristinecompetitions.co.uk/yas-marina-blue-m3

I seem there is also a 2018 Mercedes gle and 6 Berth caravan for raffle in less than 2 days and that has only 3000 our of 15000 sold.

How can these draws go ahead would they not be losing money?

From looking at previous raffles from them a lot of people leave it to the last minute to buy a ticket.

Nothing motor related, but I won a milwaukee cordless tool set a few weeks back on rkings

Out of interest of the people who have won did you buy multiple tickets or just the one. I've noticed a few of the wins recently if you look at the entry list the one who wins has multi entries. Obviously all well and good and increases your chances but 10x€20 is a pretty big stake !

I dip in and out but only ever buy one entry (even on the €2 ones! :)) - yet to win a single thing though. I only enter for the stuff I would actually want, no interest in the holidays, the bikes or the older cars but would happily take a new TV, iphone etc or some of the other cars they have.

I won with 1 ticket on the first competition I entered.

At the minute there’s a lovely 172 white BMW 5 Series M Sport for only €22.95! I entered this a few times. There not scams as I know of a few people that have won. All Irish reg cars so no need to pay vrt.

Anyone buy any entries of this site or have won cars before?

Awful looking yoke, tacky white. Any wonder only half the tickets sold...

I won a bicycle from them, although after a year of tickets I probably only broke even.

Just in case no-one has seen this, those random number generators can be fixed by cloning the website and altering the code, so you can see in this video it will spew out a random number until the designated odds are entered, so here 1:100, 1:1000, 1:10000 all return 91

So for instance they could run 5 draws with different odds at random but then make sure the biggest draw of the day has 1:1000, their number comes up and it all looks legit!

Really the only way to be sure would be if they did 3 trial runs at the odds before the actual draw.

Anyone any experience of setting up one of these competition websites? Are there any opensource packages or are they all custom built?

    Half considering setting one up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,173 ✭✭✭RandomViewer

Think you've missed the boat to be honest, don't think anyone's bothering with them anymore

I'm thinking of it for charitable purposes though. Looks like the sort of thing could be good for the football club for 1 off draws or even for school fundraisers.

Mini diggers seem to be the newest thing to raffle seen a good companies offering them as raffle prizes

Was tempted by the RS6 or €180k, had a ticket in my basket before I thought I'd check their T&Cs out.

T&Cs appear to permit them to keep pushing out the draw until they sell all their (~€270-€330k worth) of tickets. Currently claiming to have sold 11% of them.

    "Alternative Cash Draw Information

If the competition is not full, the timer will add some time in order for all the tickets to sell on the competition. This will happen a maximum of 4 times if the competition is still not sold out a cash alternative will be awarded instead and only the people that have entered will go into the live draw.Alternative cash will be awarded of 70% tickets sold after marketing and processing fees."

Wincar seem to have draws that last for flipping ages.

Rkings have a nice one at the moment, choose between RS6 Avant or M3 - VRT for both are off the charts though (over 40k)

I noticed a new raffle website with a new 4k TV going for €5 a ticket which seems reasonable. Has a business address, phone number too, seems legit.
