Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Submitted 15 October nothing for 50 odd days. Emailed, they said they address was wrong because eircode didn't match.

I was told then they had tried to send them on 17th October!! So annoyed they didn't drop an email at that stage.

I'm well over 60 days now but support have told me they should be on the way soon.

I find it hard to believe they tried send them on the 17th, they're telling fibs there. Had anyone in Ireland even got them before December?
Mine came today. Wasn't crazy pleased with the packaging.. headphone box has been squished a bit. Just a DHL bag around the Bose box.

I got the email yesterday and it was delivered this morning. I think there's a link in the email to change your delivery day/delivery address.

Yes, I saw that but I don't trust it to work. I can just pick it up from the delivery office on Monday.

Finally git an post tracking number for mine. I wonder if DHL suspending Irish deliveries will impact others waiting?

Just noticed I'm 10 days too late for this offer. Is it still worth buying the Pixel 5? Currently have a Pixel 3a.

Honestly having had the phone nearly two months now, I'd say yes.

Much better form factor overall, I had the regular 3A and it's nice having an all screen phone.

Software and UI is the same, but it's much more fluid.

Battery life is just phenomenal, I can nearly kill it using it for work, using maps and streaming music, but on a regular day I could easily end at the 30-50% mark depending on usage.

The lack of a headphone jack was a little issue more so with work vehicles only having a aux but I just keep the adapter connected to the aux cable.

If you do need a adapter for headphones, I would recommend the Google one compared to the Apple one, as the former actually drives headphones and speakers compared to Apples.

I can not compare it to a 3a as this is my first Pixel. I'm loving the 5. Camera is fantastic, display is beautiful, although it does not have the top of the range snap dragon, I have not noticed it being slower than my previous phone.

One thing I notice if you take a pic and view it straight away it takes a second or so to process, that doesn't bother me though.

I wasn't keen on the gestures found them a little buggy so switched them off and put on the three dedicated buttons and there are perfect.

Does anyone know whether there's a pattern to Google offering price reductions on Pixels?

I bought a 2xl in February of March 2018, and I'm pretty sure it had been reduced by a hundred quid or so.

Is this an annual thing, or does it depend on how the phone is selling?

The usual have 50 euro off on black friday but this year that didn't happen.

Google never seem to do much more than 20% off on their phones. You would usually get them cheaper elsewhere.

Right now, the cheapest option seems to be using switch and save with Vodafone.

    4a €300
    4a 5G €450
    5 €580

I think the people who got them validated mid December and after are yet to receive them. I got mine in first week of January for claim valid dated start of December but know someone who are yet to receive theirs who got it validated a week after me.

Any recommendations for a cover for a pixel 5 ?

It's been on the phone since November. Doesn't interfere with wireless charging or the screen.

I have a denim cover, it covers the entire phone, my legs and and arse. The phone can easily be slipped out of the cover when in use... it's called jeans

    I picked up this one

It's fine, looks nice on the phone. It can be a little slippy on the arm of the couch.

For someone who is on a pixel 3 and will move to a pixel 5 soonish
Any ideas on what improvements I can expect to experience?

This is my first Pixel so cannot compare to other pixels, but here is what I find.

Really good battery life. I hit about a day and a half before I need a charge (taking pics, browsing web, social media, checking emails) I don't play mobile games so just general usage.

Savage camera, night mode is excellent.

I found the air features a big buggy or just my dodgy finger movements so just opted to enable the bottom nav drawer (back button home button)

Although it doesn't have the latest top of the range Snapdragon, I have yet to see it struggle or stutter, has been flawless since I got it (Christmas)

Wide angle lens I don't think the 3 has that.

For anyone still waiting on their free bose headphones. Spoke to them today and they said Brexit has caused delays. They have to relocate their fulfillment centre from UK to Germany for the Irish market, so they say. Got the email below too.

    ---

    Good afternoon,

Thank you for your participation in the Google Pixel Bose Headphones promotion.

Due to the high popularity of this offer we continue to experience delays in shipping out some of the Bose Headphones rewards.

Whilst our team are working as fast as they can to send out your reward, and we can assure you that every participant whose claim has been approved will receive their reward, we expect all customers to receive their deliveries by 15/03/21. We would like to sincerely apologise that your delivery has been affected.

As soon as your Bose headphones are ready to dispatch, we shall update you by email and provide the courier tracking details for your shipment.

We hope in the meantime you are enjoying your new Pixel phone.

    Kind regards,

    Promotional Support Team

Was I dreaming that Vodafone Ireland had the Pixel 5 on stock very recently?
I just decided to upgrade to it and it's just gone...
The Pixel 6 doesn't seem to be around the corner, so I'm confused.
Do you guys know what's happening and if I could get a Pixel 5 on Vodafone in the near future?

    Thank you.

I picked up one of these a couple of months ago. I'm noticing I'm missing a lot of calls that go directly to voicemail, I never see any sign of the call.

I'm in Dublin City Centre with a strong signal. My previous phone didn't have this issue with the same SIM card and network.

    Any ideas?

I got one through Vodafone, so they definitely did have them. No idea when/if they'll get more in stock, though.

Are they all private (hidden) numbers by any chance? I have the "block private number numbers" feature enabled and it does exactly this.

I'm only on 40% so I would say no, but that really depends on the user. If you're doing a lot of photos in high quality, it could fill up very fast.

Install the Files app by Google, will help you clear up any temp / large / downloaded files, unused apps or already backed up photos / videos in Google Photos.

Maybe so but it'll be locked to the VF network which may not suit everyone. It'll be unlocked from the Google store.

I tried to buy it twice recently on the Vodafone website, but was unable to complete the transaction for some reason. I tried my local Vodafone store, who didn't have it, and told me that none of the stores locally had it.
