It's a slimming world type recipe, but quite tasty. Just make sure you let the sauce reduce down and get sticky.

This is not a plan as such, but I find it handy to have noodles as a back up, so you can have your protein of choice, and the vegetables can be quickly stir fried.

    IMG-20210209-130721.jpg

The easiest thing about this is that the flavouring is a simple mix of cupboard ingredients, no cooking involved.

I have fish sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, chilli sauce, etc. Just mix up and pour a spoonful into each bowl before putting the noodles in.

For protein, meat of choice, but even some smoked or canned fish is great. Any quick veg you want with it.

    Toppings, like herbs or nuts.

    Put on top.
    Dinner done!

I ended up making it this evening and it was quite nice. The teenager in this house has very "particular" food tastes, and it seemed like something he could go for. He ate it all surprisingly (he said before he didn't like feta, he didn't realise it was feta in the dish).

Neyite, will you be having savoury pancakes for dinner tomorrow night? I floated the idea with the OH, but he was having none of it :P He's never had a savoury pancake in his life. It'll be pancakes for dessert instead!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,920 ✭✭✭cee_jay

In this house, pancakes is the dinner request - savoury for main, sweet for dessert. I have no idea where to even start with making savoury!
I was half considering doing a One Tin pancake recipe in the morning for breakfast, but not being a morning person, that probably wont happen.

Similar to this for savoury https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/pancake-cannelloni I love cannelloni :pac:

I don't think I'd get away with that here! It'll just be pancakes with an assortment of toppings, so I've raspberries and cream, maple syrup, retro lemon & sugar, and nutella to offer.

I tend to favour savoury over sweet myself so I might look up some savory ideas for me.
