Would have liked to see Dafoe returning instead but Molina is still pretty cool.

I would imagine they're saving Norman Osbourne for future films maybe.

I'd have liked to see Chris Cooper's Osbourne. Then again, if this is a Spider-verse thing, that might still happen.

Dunst and Maguire are reported to be in talks to return.

I have a feeling a lot of these will be token cameos as they jump through the Multiverse.

There's a fine line between fun callbacks and fan service w&nk, so i hope marvel hasn't lost the run of itself that these cameos(?) ruin the film. Though I'm still salty it won't be a simple "neighborhood Spiderman" story. I prefer the character at street level than this nu- Stark the MCU is angling.

I'll be amazed if we dont get both Maguire, Garfield and Barnes at this point.

    Not a bad shout.

I hadn't thought of that, but that's an excellent spitball. AFAIK Spider-Gwen is very popular in the comics circles so would be a bit of a no-brainer for live action.

Can't claim credit for it given it's being speculated elsewhere. :D Would be great to see Garfield bounce off that version of Gwen, where their opposites were the ones that died in the respective universes.

I'd say they would go for a younger actress for SpiderGwen (or Ghost Spider as she goes by now) seeing as in the comics she is much younger.

I wouldnt mind a live action Nic Cage Spider-Man:Noir either while we are on the topic crossovers.

That would be good but I'd prefer if he shows up as Johnny Blaze if they ever being in Robbie Reyes to the MCU

Already knew he was in Agent's of SHIELD but never thought the show was treated as part of the MCU after the last few seasons

It is, however I am not sure if it will for long, as the Marvel TV division it was made under (led by Jeph Loeb) has been folded under Marvel's cinematic wing proper.

This means it's a direct report to Feige now. It's possible when the new Disney+ stuff gets delivered, all previous MCU tv stuff will get, as a Star Trek fan might say, beta canonised.

Stone as Spider Gwen might give Robbie as Harley Quinn as run for her money when it comes to who will be the most cosplayed over the next few years.

Grace is saying this somehow takes the shine off the Flash movie. Can't see it myself I'll be in the line to see both.

Grace just says stuff tbh. Your average person doesn't care about stuff like this at all, if anything if they're both multiversey, having one out there will make the general public stomach the other one a bit easier as they're used to the idea (which Spider-Verse has already helped)

There's been a crap tonne of rumours over the last couple of days about Spidey 3. Disney have an investor call tonight where they are supposed to be announcing some stuff for their Marvel slate.

If they have secured Cox, I wouldn't be surprised if he's rolled out to distract from what now must be the dumpster fire of a potential Black Panther 2 reveal they were probably gonna talk about.

I dont think Cox is a big enough name to be 'rolled' anywhere, especially not on an investors call. :pac: It is more the type of announcement that would get a pop at comic con or the likes.

What I'm really intrigued by is all these leaks/negotiations just at this point, as they've already been filming for a while. It definitely points to them being more minor roles than anything substantial to the story.

If Strange is involved I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be a 5 minute Dr Strange esque trip of Holland's going through different universes.

    Secret Invasion

Secret Invasion is a newly announced series heading to Disney+ that stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos—characters who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

    Ironheart

Ironheart, the second of the newly announced series coming to Disney+, stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.

    Armor Wars

Armor Wars, based on the classic Marvel comic series, comes to Disney+ starring Don Cheadle as James Rhodes aka War Machine who must face what happens when Tony Stark’s tech falls into the wrong hands.

    Moon Knight

Moon Knight is a new series created for Disney+. Directed by Mohamed Diab, the action-adventure features a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters who appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography.

I'd rather they didnt go that direction, I think the MCU is plenty young at this point, especially with the new additions and likely X-Men coming soon.

It is probably more challenging to bring in an older cast narrative wise, explaining how this super genius hasn't popped up previously. It isn't insurmountable, they could have that Reed was working on the government side.

Well if they are introducing the multi verse what's to say they came from a different Earth where they had been active for numbers of years. They could also bring in Franklin and Valeria

At this stage, I'll take any FF movie that's good.

Saw one idea of setting it in the '60s but personally they don't need to be the first* superheroes of an MCU Marvel Age, just something happens that makes them celebrities in that world.

From the stuff I've followed over the last year or so, more than one director pitched their FF film to Marvel, so I would hope that hiring Watts means he came up with a doozie of an idea.....or, and more likely, that he was the ideal candidate to deliver an FF film made by committee.

That's a dig given it's obviously worked so far.

Cassie Lang must be one of the first actors they didn't think of the future when casting. They're usually pretty good at casting people in small roles with the possibility of an expanded role later. Unless there's some reason for it.
Is there any other named hero that was changed, apart from War machine?

Are there that many even mid-tier name actors cast in very small roles where it wasn't pretty obvious beforehand that they'd play a much bigger part down the line? Normally first short appearances are just nods for movies that are well in the works and the actors signed up for.

I really hope everything isn't going to be multiverse from now on. I was hoping it would be contained to Dr Strange 2 but now it basically confirmed it'll play at least a small part in Spider-man 3.

Any further it just becomes a convoluted mess that the MCU has done so well to avoid, that is without even going into an additional layer of plot armour and escape route for the heroes.

I would assume they had an idea they would use Cassie again at some point. I would be very surprised if they had planned for Paul Bettany to be Vision when they cast him as JARVIS

He actually mentioned this in an interview with BBC Radio 1's Ali Plumb in 2018, while promoting Infinity War.

Odds are the movies will be delayed. Again.

So this is at least something.
