Oh your patience is wearing thin, boo hoo.

Hold on until I find the worlds smallest violin for you.

Toughen up. Everybody is in the same boat and has lost jobs as well as missing people but it doesn't give you the right to disobey regulations set down for the good of all society.

Everytime I see some poster on boards say Toughen up, htfu or any such crap I rack my brain and cannot ever remember a genuine tough person talking that sheet in real life.

How is everyone in the same boat? Even in my own home the four of us aren't in the same boat.

Some folk have mortgages they are terrified they won't be able to pay. Others have already lost jobs with no sign of ever getting them back. I've a sister who has lost her business that she's put 17 years into.
Next door neighbour is in his 70s. This cocooning is killing him. Talking to him over the back wall and he isn't right. He sound confused where a few weeks ago he was razor sharp. He actually said life isn't worth living, he can't sleep and the day is too long.
Two doors up there's a family with two kids waiting for their Leaving cert exams and not knowing what's next.
Across the road a family asking if their Dad will be rotated back from his tour with the army overseas and no one knows if he will get home.

    Tldr?
All in same boat my foot.

Now we're seeing your nice side my poor man.

You should let it our more often.

Joking aside I agree with that.

But surely a sensible man like you my poor friend would also agree that this point needs to come sooner than later or at least we must start working towards it?

We are nothing but a few head cases on the internet and it matters not a jot what we think. In the real world I support the government to make the right decision at the appropriate time otherwise we have anarchy like some here promote and taking matters into their own hands because they miss the pub or haven't seen the beach in a few weeks

If it's safe on the 5th great, if not great.

    Cheers

There is definitely less fear around. I don't think people are being complacent. They're adjusting to a new normal and that doesn't mean we can't go outdoors.

We are slowly learning to live alongside this virus. We will rely heavily on those who do get it, isolating quickly.

700 more cases. This lockdown is a waste of time with those numbers.

Getting worst of both worlds. High number of cases for our population AND destroying the economy.

Nurse, not in a Covid ward in a hospital with Covid wards.

The dinner is on:) This is not precisely the same thing we discussed earlier. My wife has worked non-Covid-19 wards some days, but crucially, she spent the entire day on those wards. And if she is on a Covid-19 ward she spends the entire day on that ward.

Dear oh dear oh dear my poor man

It won't be 'safe' again as it was.

We will be living alongside this virus

    But living.

Not hiding away in our bunkers

Why do you persist with this ****e about posters who want a relaxation of restrictions are "missing the pub"? It's untrue and derails the thread.

Well if they're having discos in the street I'm not surprised.

Like I said my poor buddy when it's safe to lift restrictions I'm all onboard.

Until then I'm 100% supporting this government who have gone right up in my estimation these last few weeks.

    Cheers bud.

PS: When did you get the bunker?

Are we allowed drive to the beach for a swim or take the boat out on Lough Ree?

Some have said they miss the pub.

    It's very simple really.

    You seem angry btw?

    Cheers.

I'd be making her sleep in the garage and she'd get dinner through a hatch.:D
Though gig, I wouldn't do it. Can't be easy.

Excellent post, I'd nearly copy and paste that and post it for everytime I see a smug post from someone claiming how well they're coping and people are getting paid €350 to sit at home and watch Netflix all day.

    Am enjoying the thread.

So many angry people, so many naive people, so many people like myself.

Ah well, wine/beer o'clock was ages ago now. Forgiveness is everything.

And no Mass either. The shock of that is immense of a Sunday to be fair.

Starting to think this lockdown is a waste of time, seemingly we will all get the virus anyway. So herd immunity will probably be a thing long before the vaccine. My small business is gone, my husbands job in construction is up in the air. So what does the future hold, we are still going to get the virus and be broke?? I'm more confused by the hour.

Do not try and bend the lockdown, that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth... there is no lockdown. Then you will see it is not the lockdown that bends, it is only yourself

The more you think about it the whole lockdown is ridiculous, the sooner we all get this bloody thing the sooner life moves on.

Leo Varadker has said there's a lockdown himself. You need to up your game it's so low effort at this point.

Not sure about anyone else but found this weekend incredibly hard. Complete and utter lockdown fatigue now.
    I think it's been a combination of factors;

    1. (smug) Tony Holohan and FG with their threats to extend the lockdown
    2. The seemingly never ending number of new cases and deaths- we've been in lockdown for so long now- if this is such a successful strategy then why are they remaining stubbornly high?
    3. The seemingly relentless flying wedge of people who think this is some kind of strategy that is working and you're nuts if you don't blindly follow it
    4. The lack of close contact with family, friend, work colleagues and even work clients has been really jarring on top of everything else
    5. The travel restrictions which are so pernicious you can't even go for a drive and a walk to some place to clear your head
    7. This my favourite time of year- after 6 months of horrible weather I feel the beautiful weather has been completely spoiled, stuck at home. Had this been last Jan/Feb with wet misery every day I probably would not have minded so much. Good weather is a precious commodity here.
