That's the new reality We can mitigate the risk greatly and we will but the effects of society not opening up will be worse, much much worse my man and worse than you could imagine. But we will open up my friend because in the end the human need for friendship overcomes the fear of death. It always has and always will You have a lot to learn about life and the joys of living my poor friend. I urge you to open your mind and stop being so negative about life. PS the stay home, stay safe, support the hse comments are becoming just slightly a bit tiresome my poor man

The seemingly never ending number of new cases and deaths- we've been in lockdown for so long now- if this is such a successful strategy then why are they remaining stubbornly high? 3. The seemingly relentless flying wedge of people who think this is some kind of strategy that is working and you're nuts if you don't blindly follow it 4. The lack of close contact with family, friend, work colleagues and even work clients has been really jarring on top of everything else 5. The travel restrictions which are so pernicious you can't even go for a drive and a walk to some place to clear your head 7. This my favourite time of year- after 6 months of horrible weather I feel the beautiful weather has been completely spoiled, stuck at home. Had this been last Jan/Feb with wet misery every day I probably would not have minded so much. Good weather is a precious commodity here.

How is everyone in the same boat? Even in my own home the four of us aren't in the same boat. Some folk have mortgages they are terrified they won't be able to pay. Others have already lost jobs with no sign of ever getting them back. I've a sister who has lost her business that she's put 17 years into. Next door neighbour is in his 70s. This cocooning is killing him. Talking to him over the back wall and he isn't right. He sound confused where a few weeks ago he was razor sharp. He actually said life isn't worth living, he can't sleep and the day is too long. Two doors up there's a family with two kids waiting for their Leaving cert exams and not knowing what's next. Across the road a family asking if their Dad will be rotated back from his tour with the army overseas and no one knows if he will get home. Tldr? All in same boat my foot.
