[Cancelled] Electric Picnic 2020 **Discussion Only // No Ticket Sales / Requests **

Van Morrison and The Waterboys playing an Essex festival in mid-August. Former surely has to play sometime and the latter haven't played for over a decade.

How about we just don't compare a medium sized festival trying to find its feet with a well established large festival heading towards mega comercialisation.

Shout out to those of us smugly going to both!

I still reckon Pet Shop Boys could be a later ATN addition btw.

Am going to both .. also hoping to get to B&S (mainly cos Marc Rebillet is playing). Have tickets for vantastival also. Hopefully will get to all 4 this year, starting small and growing over the summer.

Might be worth checking if any bookies have odds on festivals being cancelled.

Big events drawing an international audience like the Olympics or the euros could be included on that conversation too. I'd say we'd be ok though, given that most of the clientele would be domestic.

Just the four festivals for myself this year two of which are in June and Green Day in the RDS which is also in June. Might as well give up working for that month.

Much depends on the preparation, quarantine facilities and resoinse teams. As to events going ahead we're really in the hands of the health authorities.

On the off chance things do get really serious I'd say a vaccine will come quicker. I still believe this is overhyped by the media but it still has potential to get worse. We'll have to wait and see.

Definitely think it's a real possibility for all large gatherings to be cancelled if it gets bad here like in Northern Italy - they cancelled a festival carnival in Venice on Saturday!

These acts keep the Picnic fresh. All festivals should be doing this and maybe they're trying but FR are spending big this year. We'll soon see.

Just looking at your list for those who've never played here before and there are some that have...straight off I see Ryan Vail, Christine & the Queens, Biig Piig, J Hus. I guess you're only referring to those that haven't played an actual festival here. I still believe that ATN is finding other bands that haven't played here too, thus keeping things fresh too. Relativity...as one guy referred to it a while back

It runs for two weeks from the 13th to 26th July inclusive. Jon Hopkins, Pixies, etc plus there's always some trad at Monroes & the Róisín. It's a great fortnight.
