Last time I looked, the Tesla Model S was officially the least depreciating car in the UK.

Also, second hand values of almost all EVs have been going up in the UK and Ireland for the last 1-2 years now. So, amazingly, yes. Appreciating assets.

Serious drop yesterday, >13%, on loss and another departure. Lots of coverage, here's one version:

I'm sad to see JB leave but Drew seems a decent replacement:

The numbers could have been better but free cash flow was good.

Numbers basically say the business is goosed.

low margins, 16 years of continuous losses. When do people start seeing reality?

Looks like Tesla don't have a manufacturing license in China. They also possibly make lose the factory down the line if they're not paying enough tax.

    Looks great.

I don't know exactly how these things work in China but do you really believe they won't get a license?

“HE’S FULL OF ****”: HOW ELON MUSK FOOLED INVESTORS, BILKED TAXPAYERS, AND GAMBLED TESLA TO SAVE SOLARCITY

The lawyers for Tesla’s board said that an independent financial adviser, Evercore, presented a detailed evaluation of four potential solar acquisition targets: SolarCity, Vivint Solar Inc., Sunrun Inc. and SunPower Corp., but concluded that “SolarCity is the most attractive asset for Tesla in the solar market.”

The Unsworth case is demonstrating that Musk is an absolute psychopath.

    Positive outlook from Deutsche Bank

“Overall, we found Tesla’s message to be bullish about the company’s near-term dynamics, and the potential for the next 12 months to be a turning point for the company’s profitability. In the near term, Tesla described stable Model 3 ASP, strong initial UK demand, and large demand potential from Europe and Korea markets, which could all help boost gross margins. Beyond it, China production seems on track to start before year-end, there should be large ramp up in credits from FCA deal, and Model Y should start production in the fall of 2020, which Tesla expects will yield large additional boost to profitability and cash flow,”

Can't help but laugh at Deutsche Bank knowing how / when another company will be profitable. Not saying they are wrong at all just think it's funny.

Tesla have been cutting the ASP of the S and X, but they're bullish about margins because the ASP of the low margin 3 is stable? That's some analysis.

There's nothing about the next 12 months that suggests there's going to be turnaround from the last 16 years.

There's nothing low margin about the vast majority of Model 3 being sold. Only the base models with no options are low margin.

Model 3 is the best selling car in the Netherlands so far this year.

I was there last week. Model 3 are everywhere. Best mate bought one and so did my brother in law.

The unsealed documents look very bad for Musk and Tesla. He'll probably weather it fine though.

Breaking: the unsealed version of the Plaintiffs' Motion for Summary Judgment has been posted in the $TSLA SolarCity case in Delaware. Ernst & Young determined "THE COMPANY COULD NOT OPERATE AS A GOING CONCERN."

Looks like things are going well in China even before local production of Model 3.

Ever optimistic Elon said they had a shot at 100k cars last quarter. The analysts got a semi from that and based their estimations on an almost as optimistic 99k cars. Looks like it was 97k cars. So the market is disappointed and TSLA is down 5% in aftermarket. Had Elon said 95k cars, the share would be up 10% aftermarket

Isn't the short term stock market value ridiculous? :p

I’ll wait for the 10Q to be filed. Last months 95k actually turned out to be 87k when we saw the filing. Eventually the SEC has to do something.

I think you're confusing deliveries and production.

    They said:
In the second quarter, we achieved record production of 87,048 vehicles and record deliveries of approximately 95,200 vehicles.

    Very damaging for Musk

    https://twitter.com/RMac18/status/1181393068701802496
You have some drive to try to discredit Elon Musk. What is it that drives you? Did you loose money? Are you short the company? or you just 100% believe the whole TESLA franchise will fail? If it's the last please explain why as best you can.

    He's discrediting himself.

I wouldn't mind if you cared to answer OwlsZat's other questions.

:pac: I think it's great that the response to that document is to question why I'm anti Musk.

"... Elon Musk, a thin-skinned billionaire who is obsessed with his public image and who has a history of vindictively and intentionally ignoring truth to maintain that PR-created image."
