Nothing gym related and small potatoes in relation to the posts here but today I walked 2.2 k without the use of a stick or crutches. A failed knee surgery last year left me all but disabled and now, 18 months and a major revision surgery later I finally managed a fairly decent walk. I’m flaming delighted with myself.

Left Raw Gym today after 10 years to open my own gym in Dublin City Center... does that count? I feel better about it than the 260kg deadlift the other day :D

Pushed out 4x15x60kg on the chest press earlier. Never hit 4 times before.

I was sitting there at the end, next thing I get a punch in the arm.
    Chesth Jimmy, yack shi mash.
I look over and a monster Polish guy is looking at me.
    Oh, you're not Jimmy.
Good job I didn't hit you, I go. Away with you to the skipping rope.
The whole floor erupts in laughter.
Good job he had a sense of humour.

    105% Squat this morning - 162.75kg.
Up from a comp PB of 155kg that felt like hell
162.75kg feels like there is more there :D
    .
Coupled with 100% on the bench and a 105% that I failed by lifting my hips.
    .
Not a bad for a Monday morning surprise testing

no big numbers or anything but i achieved going back to the gym this week!
i benched, squated, dead lifted @ 70%, 50%,45% of what i was doing previous
but it was good for the mental health to be back at it.

Some nice gym PBs hit on squat (240kg) and bench (120kg, finally) tonight. Hopefully can hit these or a bit more in 2 weeks on the platform :).

You could at least try to make it look hard.

5 once the weight is 200kg or more and then there's the hype squad

I have been trying to make a goal weight for ages (like, 1 year) and I just smashed it by 2kg! I was afraid that a move to a new country would result in weight gain like the last time. However, the hot weather and very active job coupled with a brilliant meal prep company means I've done this without even thinking about my weight. I just wanted to feel good! Such a surprise to me this morning when I saw the scale after 3 months of not even thinking about a scale.

Nice well done Mars Bar. I always get to within 5-10% and then lose my motivation and ease back a bit. Going to make a concerted effort this time as I'm close now.

Good stuff. Do you have a new gripper to move on to?

  • Registered Users Posts: 364 ✭✭LincolnHawk

I have the #3 but it's way too big a step up for me.
I'll have to get the 2.5 and work on that

I can do 5-6 reps on the 1.5.
Cant get the 2.5 closed, maybe to within 1/2”.
    I must buy the 2

  • Registered Users Posts: 364 ✭✭LincolnHawk

Yeah that should help you bridge the gap and put in the work to close the 2.5

The 3 is a huge jump from the 2. About 40%
You and DTP should swap the 2 and 2.5, then swap back when you's both close them.

Ok scratch that that, I can do 16 reps with the 1.5. Just tested while I was waiting in traffic

  • Registered Users Posts: 364 ✭✭LincolnHawk

Nice. You'll close the 2 straight out of the box.
Ordered the 2.5 for myself, should get it next week.
