Trackitonline sometimes gives more detailed results.

They usually email you. You will probably get one in the next day or so.

DHL far more likely to get stopped and charged by customs, it is just much quicker.

For example an item that cost €85 + €15 DHL shipping would get stopped for 23% - €23 + DHL handling fee €15. You would have to pay an extra €38 at the door.

    An post handling is €12.

Thanks for that! 17track is giving me this:

    Destination : Ireland

    Origin : Singapore
2018-06-05 00:00 Arrival at Destination Post (Country: IE)

2018-06-03 00:00 Despatched to overseas (Country code: IE)

I also recently read that An Post deliveries are more likely to get stopped by customs than DHL, which is upsetting haha. I have no problem paying the customs fees if needed, just don't want the extra delay :P

No one to blame but my impatient self!

I'm not sure where you read that but i dont think it is correct. I have never had an AX parcel stopped by customs and i order a lot. I always have items shipped by post.

Hmm, it was a post on this site I think! Someone replied to someone asking why they used An Post considering it was so much slower and more likely to get caught at customs. Maybe I misread it though!

Either way, ordered 3 weeks ago today so hopefully on the home stretch.

DHLs parcel forwarding services "dodge" customs, that may be what the poster meant.

    Courier Services: Highest detection
    An Post: Medium
    DHL e-Packet: Probably lowest

    ^^ This. ^^

They created tracking label, did not send it, so number expired after set time.

On the other note - one purchase delivered - 20 days.

this tends to happen a lot with Aliexpress sellers. I could never understand the rationale behind it. they dont get paid until the buyer has confirmed delivery.

I guess some of them just "send" items that way hoping scammed buyer will forget to claim their money back before timeout. Dealt with one seller years ago, they sworn to god they sent what I paid for. Did not believe and carried on with claim - after a while I found their account suspended. Coincidence? Unlikely. ;)

Yeah, its the forget about it approach Im sure. Slow transit times probably helped them hugely with that.

New tracking code sent over night. Not logged any scans yet. Give it till thursday and then he's in for a dispute.

They don't have goods in stock. They sell and then try to source the items...

If buyer sees the parcel is shipped, they are less likely to cancel the order...

    ^^^^^^^^^

I always order based on Orders rather than Price, seems to have worked so far. Sometimes might be a few cent dearer but I can live with that.

@allthedoyles Sometimes package get routed through different locations in China, before they actually get shipped to Ireland, may explain your discrepancy with what tracking sites report.

After has shipped from china, you can expect it 10 to 14 Days afterwards.

Compare it to this fully tracked package.

Country of origin is China. Pulau Pinang is in Malaysia so it's being routed through Malaysia. I've had packages recently from China coming through Turkey also.

Why not share your link and opinions on the case in RN5 Thread, when you get it.
