Im not insinuating anything if you arent aware of the situation around kate fitzgerald and the CC then you are intentionally ignorant as you seem to be claiming you know a lot about prone and savage.

Im going to premptively guess you are one of those perpetually lazy people who refuse to do their own research so here you go

I actually saw that before. I thought you had a bit more than insinuation.

I'm not offended. I really don't care. This thread is for discussing the programme, and its merits and negatives. Close the forum if you only want one view on everything.

Hang on, you're posting on this thread about not tuning in because of a promo that you didn't even listen to correctly? And you're claiming the thread is for discussing the program?

I apologized and corrected my self.

C'mon, there's nothing but whinging when there's a topic that's seen as exclusively for women on the show with posters getting offended by some perceived feminist agenda, and as you said yourself, her opinion, uninformed or not.

Read all threads about TV and radio shows. Majority of contributors are there to complain. Or to say how they don't listen/watch anymore.

What's wrong with that? Complaining is very enjoyable. Most television is crap anyway.

So the direct legal threats by the CC to the irish times unless they redact 3 paragraphs and intimidation via a 3rd party to broadsheet to do the same is insinuation?

You undoubtedly have some connection to prone and the CC et al so i wont be interacting with you on this anymore

No I think there are always two sides to the story and this story was told very much just from one side. I have no connection to either side but Because Kate Fitzgerald died there was actually no resolution to whole story. And in situation like that it's very easy to brand one side all bad and the other side all good.

On the whole Lunch Time Live, I have no problem of criticism but when that criticism is based on somebody 'mishearing' stuff the way it suits their agenda it's a bit more hysteria than criticism.

Think about how much more enjoyable life might be if you watched/listened to things you enjoyed. Less stress levels for a start.

Crazy idea maybe, but it's worth trying.

I'm not stressed. I listen to all sorts of programmes. One of my hobbies is moaning about programmes I don't like, particularly RTE programmes. I enjoy it.

Genuine question given your comments on the CC/KF issue. Do you have any connection to the CC, Prone herself, or any other employee in the CC?

Mods: apologies in advance if I'm breaching any rules here. I'm aware of the rule questioning is the poster the presenter of the show being discussed, but I don't see this as the same thing.

No I don't and I amended that post. As a small business owner I have some sympathy regarding dealings with sick employees. While you have to accommodate sick employees you also have to continue with your business.

Ok, I see the point you're trying to make; but TCC is hardly a small business.

Just one further comment on this though - you only heard one side because TCC went into shutdown mode on this and as far as I'm aware offered nothing substantial by way of comment on this story at the time, or since.

Given that their business is communication, and Prone would see herself as a highly-skilled PR spokesperson, don't you find it a little odd that they've been silent on this? You can't shut her up commenting on everything and anything when she's on the airwaves....and yet, on this, silence.

So it's all well and good to say you're only hearing one side. One side is all you can hear when the other refuse to discuss it, and/or threaten legal action if anyone else does.

The size doesn't overly matter, I more mentioned small business not to imply I'm in some huge company. But every company will have to deal with employee disputes and employee sickness.

    Absolutely not!

This is an incredibly sensitive topic. If they commented in any way to absolve themselves, they'd be castigated for being insensitive.

I imagine they did, behind closed doors so to speak which explains why they continue to get business.

You can't argue against an employee who is dead. It would be cruel and it would bring no positive publicity even if you are right.

As someone who deals with PR companies almost daily in my working life for more than 20 years, I can tell you some of you have a very weird understanding of what the PR Business is about.

I didn't say anything about absolving themselves, they issued no comment whatsoever that I'm aware of.

Your last sentence beggars belief on a number of levels. As to why they continue to get business...well that's another story isn't it? Nothing to do with connections of course, or historical contracts etc.

The people involved don't strike me as the type who'd be worried about being called insensitive. Are you aware of the letter Ms. Prone wrote on behalf of a religious order?

Have you ever personally met any of the protagonists?

Are you going to ask him about his name calling on Twitter or are the hard questions reserved for those who are not liberal do-gooders?

Dr Ciara Kelly’s lunchtime slot, Lunchtime Live, meanwhile, remains static book on book at 99,000. Prior to stepping down in the wake of controversial comments about rape, George Hook was drawing 97,000 listeners for that slot last year.

No real change in the JNLR.

Aodhann O Riordan was on saying parents should have to give voluntary contributions for schools anymore, im guessing he made no mention of where the money would come from to make up for it though and I can;t imagine Ciara challenged him in any way because "think of the children"

    @ciarakellydoc

Thank you, thank you, thank you to ALL our listeners - new & old! Half the show IS YOU!!! @LunchtimeLiveNT @NewstalkFM #JNLR

Why would Dr. Kelly send out a tweet like that when she didn't add any new listeners to the show?

Out of 99k listeners there are almost certainly new listeners to the show.
    Not that hard to understand?

It implies ADDING listeners to the programme. She did not. It's misleading.

Certainly not the only character at ths craic at JNLR time, however.

I'm sure she added thousands. Plenty of hooks listeners walked with him. She brought some of her own

It is but I think she was down slightly previous three months. So the plus would be mostly listeners added under Hook in his last two quarters. That being said she is new presenter replacing one of main and best known Newstalk presenters so her results aren't bad in my opinion. I might be wrong but despite adding listeners Coleman and Williams are nowhere near where Yates and Donoghue were in the mornings. It is not that easy to replace an established name.
