I thought that was exclusively reserved for men? As in all men are potential rapists....and all that good stuff?
I finally heard the ad. The saying is 'mutton dressed as lamb' and it's about a comment of former female Vogue editor who claimed women older than 40 should not wear ruffles or frills or something similar. While the subject is pretty superficial, nobody here would be whinging if the discussion was about football or some other similarly worthwhile and life defining pursuit men have. This thread really is for perpetually outraged.

Also I have no idea what Terry Prone and Communication Clinic did or didn't do to Kate Fitzgerald but if you have something on them spit it out or stop insinuating.

Let me google that for you then......ah, no; sorry, do it yourself. It's not my job to familairise you with those events. It's a very sad story that has received plenty of coverage and might actually give you a different perspective on the individuals involved and their behaviour. I wasn't insinuating anything - it's been widely reported on.

Im not insinuating anything if you arent aware of the situation around kate fitzgerald and the CC then you are intentionally ignorant as you seem to be claiming you know a lot about prone and savage.

Im going to premptively guess you are one of those perpetually lazy people who refuse to do their own research so here you go

Firstly, I didn't hear the ad. - I was commenting on an earlier post.

Re. your comment in bold....this may come as a shock to you but not every single man in the world is interested in football. I personally have absolutely no interest in soccer, GAA, or many other sports for that matter. Your comment is actually sexist; but let's not forget that sexism only works one way. And nice belittling tone too, dripping in sarcasm as it was.

If I had posted "nobody here would be whinging if the discussion was about knitting or some other similarly worthwhile and life defining pursuit women have."

One thing I will agree on however is that the topic is superficial; but then again most of the content on this particular show is either superficial, vacuous or incredibly ill-informed......and all that good stuff.

Was the phrase used, not "mutton dressed as lamb" ? Regardless, more inevitable one sided dross from the good doctor.

Sorry, you're correct "Mutton dressed as lamb".

Isn't that comment quite sexist? I hate football.

It seems to attract a large amount of insecure men who get upset at any sort of topic they deem only relevant to women.

Yup. That's it. You nailed it.

It's absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the incompetence of the host displayed almost daily through her uninformed opinions and all that good stuff.

Have you learned nothing from this thread Dick? Sexism only applies to men.

C'mon, there's nothing but whinging when there's a topic that's seen as exclusively for women on the show with posters getting offended by some perceived feminist agenda, and as you said yourself, her opinion, uninformed or not.

    It's quite funny.

Just heard the promo for today's show. They're going to be talking about why the phrase "Wolf in sheep's clothing" only applies to women". Think I'll be switching the dial; from 12 on....
    "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing"
I don't know if that applies to only women. Maybe it only applies to women that stab their old colleagues in the back so that they can take their job?

Thats sexist, I complain about every topic ciara covers thanks very much regardless of its gender slant as its about her ignorance and incompetance as a host.

Question am I also somehow sexist for equally complaining about Paul williams similar incomeptance as a host and cave man sexist remarks towards women in the breakfast show thread too?

I've made the exact same comparison previously on here. (Almost) every time I criticise Kelly I'm "sexist", yet every time I criticise Williams.....silence.

I've heard a women discuss women's topics. And when it doesn't interest me, as is often the case, I tune out or switch to something that doesn't. I don't get offended.

But the suggestions, as been made before, that Newstalk has a feminist agenda is hilarious.

It might be hilarious (I'm not sure why), but it's true.

It's ButtersSuki actually. If you weren't such a sexist pig spending all your time on topics of male interest like football perhaps you'd be able to read properly......

    JOKE!

Ha I always thought your username was Butterski. I need to pay closer attention. I prefer Butterski, though.

Did I say anything about sexism?

But look at the subsequent comments, feminist propaganda. Brilliant.

Yup, ignore the comments about the host's incompetence...and comments made previously about her lack of preparedness, uninformed opinions expressed as fact etc.

I don't care if Kelly is a woman, a man, transgender, or a mutant alien. She is a terrible radio presenter for all of the reasons outlined and then some. Her sex has nothing to do with it....but if you say anything negative against her or her show, in the eyes of some on here you're sexist.

I've said repeatedly Paul Williams is the worst presenter on Newstalk in many threads. No-one says I'm sexist when I do that funnily enough.

Feminist & left leaning apparently! All at the hand of Denis O'Brien that infamous leftie feminist. Pat Kenny, Ivan Yates, Paul Williams all lieutenants in the case, Private Hook shoring up the Saturday morning slot.

    You couldn't make it up.

Again, I never said anything about sexism.

Nor have I commented about her skill levels as a host which you want to steer towards.

I'm commenting on the perpetual offence, which is undeniable, that some posters have when there's topics they aren't the audience for.

All the people you mention would agree with the social views of the Socialist Workers Party. They are socially liberal and economically liberal. Whether that means right wing I have no idea. These terms are thrown around but very misunderstood.

I'm not offended. I really don't care. This thread is for discussing the programme, and its merits and negatives. Close the forum if you only want one view on everything.
