Why did Tipp FM take on an ex Q102 presenter,to run the station,if they are dreadful station?
so that tipp fm could become even more dreadful?

Agreed. They are way back on where they used to be.

Over 71,000 people tune into the station each week while Tipp FM has also boosted its daily reach to 45,000.
The Station’s quarter hour figures have seen gains too with over 10,500 listeners tuning in every 15 minutes.

When do you think they were at their best?

Well their highest listenership was before ClareFm took them over and the figures speak for themselves

Whats the point of Tipp FM giving traffic reports for Galway/Cork...Drivers in Galway wont pick them up,and if I plan to drive there, its about two and a half hours away on a good day...

Often sat stuck in traffic in Tipp Town Clonmel and thurles wondering the same thing. Ridiculous.

Lorraine on breakfast is very good but she's screaming out for a male to bounce off, A proper double header there would be great,

She is in fairness very easy to listen to. What happened to the lad that was with her!

I think she is better on her own....I think there are to many shows that have two people doing them on radio...She sounds like she is enjoying the show...Just music, little chat, and give the time a little more...I always run late:D...Lunchtime dj could sound a bit more upbeat....The guy on afternoons as well..

Bad figures for the local station, market share and listened yesterday are both down on the last set of data

How much of a drop? I suppose its only the station would get the actual programmes figures?

What happened the presenters on the Hospital radio? I often listen when I am in range..The last while I havent heard any,or very few presenters..It always depended on the time of day..I didnt mind just the music..but if you listen for a while now,it seems the music is on a loop...the same songs keep coming up.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,124 ✭✭✭by8auj6csd3ioq

Maybe they have no volunteers? I also picked it up a couple of times and the same songs as you say

I thought i had posted this, sorry if it doubles

The last while I havent heard any,or very few presenters

One would expect with all the knowledge on what makes a good presenter and how to run a radio station floating around there would be no shortage of volunteers ;-)

Another Programme Director sacked and escorted from the building suddenly in the last week or so, I hear.
Shame. I thought he was starting to put a bit of order on the music and programming and, given more time, would have started to see the JNLR figures start to climb.
Even bottom of the table Premier League managers get more time, it seems.

PD from Clare FM apparently now has responsibility for programming on both stations. I'd love to see Tipp FM's contract with the BAI to see if that's permitted.

On-air talent or programme management - heed this lesson. If offered a job at Tipp FM, just say no.
You'd have better career prospects at McDonald's or KFC.

His only crime seems to be not adding at least 10 percentage points to the stations JNLR listenership in 3 months.

A source close to the station. Although, the bit about being escorted from the building is probably not true, it was very sudden. The chap was doing afternoons as well as being Programme Director. His profile has now disappeared from the Tipp FM website.

Dave Harrington was it? Definitely heard him during the week a bit cheesy I thought bit bland.
