Ahem, but I'd prefer if you could actually, like, address me by my full name?

Already happening in America. I think "Khaleesi" was one of the most popular new names. Like calling your daughter Queen.

It is inevitable that such names will become commonplace. Nothing new though! Since at least the 1980s, it has become common to use TV series to get a name. You could tell broadly a person's age by what name they are called often.

All that said and done though, there is a difference between using a traditional name inspired by a TV series and a made up name from a series that has no use outside of it. Long after the TV series is over, the name is there and no doubt can lead to difficulties in school, etc. Be careful what names you choose and why.

Thinking on that, I am aware of at least 10 children born in recent years who all have normal names but inspired by TV series and films. Here they are:

Walter, named after Breaking Bad character.
Nigel, named after Nidge from Love/Hate.
Martha, named after character from The Americans.
Jon, named after Game of Thrones character.
    Max, named after Mad Max.
Francis, named after Fran the Man from Love/Hate.
Michelle, named after Coronation Street character.
    Monica, named after Friends character.
Christian, named after 50 Shades of Grey character.
Derek Edward, named after Del Boy.

All nice names by the way but would they have been chosen if they were not in a TV series or film?

    Declan?

Henceforth to be only known as "bleeeeedin' deco"

Chantelle, in the Irish context, must always be shouted, and is invariably followed by something along the lines of "ged in off the road you'll be kilt"
