If your contract was being changed you got a letter. So technically everyone should have it.

Was just wondering about the wording.

I am raging with myself. I just rang, was on hold for aggggggggggggges. Finally got someone. Cut off was the 31st, changes come into play today. They allowed a few people cancel Sat and Sun but absolutely nobody can cancel today or any day after today.

I can't believe I missed the deadline. I hate my phone (HTC and cracked screen) and am over a year away from an upgrade so it would have been perfect.

I know someone in the exact same situation who spent 30 mins of her lunch hour on hold lots of days trying to get through but never has managed.

Uncannily she has a HTC with a cracked screen too! I can put ye in touch to set up a support group. :)

Live chat was a much easier way to do it. Too late now, I know.

Dont understand why people were waiting till the last few days to cancel anyway, anyone who has missed out on this has no one to blame only themselves.

Lines were shocking busy for ages. I'd say most people made several attempts and thought it would be easier at the end.

Maybe so, but if it was me I would have made sure that I had it done before the last few days, but thats just me, i like to get things done in good time. I understand that there are always people who leave things to the last minute, sure Im married to one of these people :)

Surely if she can prove that she made lots of attempts to contact three, they will let her cancel a day late.

Did she not get a letter from three though?

I found my letter. It is dated 1st March. It says "if you do not accept these changes you have the right to cancel your current plan within 30 days without penalty. You can do so by contacting us on 1800 818 021 before 3rd April 2017" Before 3rd April pretty clear.

The word before seems to be key. Before the 3rd of April is the 2nd of April not the 3rd of April.

I've an insurance renewal that refers to renewing ON OR BEFORE a particular date which is how three would have put it if they meant you could renew on the 3rd of April.

My girlfriend cancelled her 2 year contract and moved to a 30 day plan today so anyone who hasnt done so still has an opportunity. Not sure what the wording on the letter to her was.

I cancelled today. Guy wasn't the easiest to deal with. Think it was a language barrier but done it anyway after repeating myself a few times and making sure he understood. You can chat online till tonight. Hope you have an hour and half to spare and make sure you constantly repeat yourself and get them to confirm your out of contract

Took me half an hour in queue just to get on to chat today, needed to confirm my cancellation was processed as details on My3 suggested otherwise.

I'd say that according to Three the last "working day" before the 3rd April was Friday 31st March so that would explain the discrepancy in the cut-off date.

That's absolutely not the case though. I changed to the Sim Only Flex Max Unlimited at around 7pm today (Monday), not a bother. I had actually been on with someone in the call centre (in Mumbai) last week and specifically clarified that the final day was today, Monday 3rd April; as I needed to get some information wrt a query that I had before I was willing to switch over, and the lady I was speaking with didn't have access to it.

So, whomever told you that today was too late was being wilfully misleading; If I were you I'd ring them back again tomorrow; if you can't get through on the 1800 number, then try 1913 (Ring 1913. Select Option 1. Next, don't select any of the 1 to 4 options, wait and she will then ask you to select 1-5 options. Select Option 5. Then she asks are you thinking of leaving Three? (Select 1). Then you should go on hold. Then you get through), and insist that they honour their own, specified conditions - they changed loads of other people's contracts today, so they should have done yours also.

And, I wouldn't accept anything other than complete satisfaction either, they were incorrect and are in the wrong - and why should you have to pay for their incompetence, regardless of how last minute you were?

Best of luck with it anyway, keep going til you hear the bang!

Anyone who has switched to the 30 day monthly contract(Flex Max SIM Only Plan) checked their allowances on MyThree?

When I signed up the data allowance was unlimited, however in my allowances section on MyThree it says 2,000,000 MB and is reducing with usage. When I look at the link on the three shop for the plan now, it seems it is capped at 2GB.

    http://www.three.ie/eshop/sim-only-plans/bill-pay-sim-only/

The calls and flexi units are also not unlimited, however the number for those is quite high.

    EDIT:

Seems I have an inability to perform basic math and 2 million MB actually translates to 2000GB, and not 2GB! Disregard!! :)

Maybe I'm reading it wrong but mine says 2,000,000 MB which is 2000 GB.

Just checked there and my account still hasn't changed - got an email transcript of the online chat where they confirmed my cancellation date so should be fine...

They are ending their night owl plan. The alternative plans are more expensive and they refuse to give a refund.

Im out of Three for a whole day and it feels great paying 5 euro a month with virgin mobile for far more than 40 euro a month got me with Three.

Virgin piggyback off the Three network yet strangely I can get a solid 4G signal in places where the Three signal was always crappy.

By the way I cut through all the phone calls and waits in the post etc by going to the Carphone Warehouse who gave me a sim and set the whole thing up for no extra cost. Apparently they are acting as agents for Virgin.

I find it hilarious that three keep calling me for a payment on my final bill, even though they are refusing to send it out to me. I have had 2 reps saying it will be sent out, that was nearly a month ago. I have no issue paying it but I want it issued to myself by post to see a breakdown of what and how much. This company never fails to amaze me.

Three Mobile have come under fire from Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune for plans to "introduce charges for mobile roaming by stealth" following the abolition of roaming across the EU on June 15, writes Audrey Ellard Walsh

Ms Clune's calls came following a letter she received from the Vice President of the EU Commission Andrus Ansip who stated that Three Mobile will be in breach of EU rules after that date, should they proceed with plans to modify their terms and conditions in order to offer unlimited data to home users but charge an additional price and cap for data when roaming in the EU.

I'm not defending them but three have a completely different angle on it. Free data isn't part of your basic plan, everyone has the same paid for data in the EU as they do at home, its just the you never get to use it because of the AYCE free data promotion. So as I said free data is a promotion that can be removed and modified any time three want to but its only available at home when connected to three's own network here.

Basically three have really crap contracts with very little data but they make up for that (sort of) with a free data promotion. You only get to see how little data your contract has when you roam.

Now the EU may look at it completely differently but there is no way you are going to get free AYCED when roaming and if you want to argue then three's T&C's allow them to remove the AYCED promotion any time they like.
