Hi,my contract ends on monday 17/4 1 was thinking of going for the e20 payg plan, question is,do i have to enter into another (30 day) contract with 3,or is this plan contract free?
    thanks.

You can go PAYG, but you'll need to let them know as you'll have to change your SIM. It won't have a contract.

You can switch to a 30 day sim only E30 plan, but the PAYG E20 has no contract and requires a new sim

thanks booters, maybe that's where the lassie got confused,is the sim only a contracted plan?

You just have to give 30 days notice if you want to leave. No contract outside of that.

May as well make a long term decision though about where next instead of being trapped for another 30 days

After arranging a month ago to have contract cancelled and revert back to €20pm PAYG, realised today that they have put me on 24 month new contract at €30pm, also charged me €30 for last month and have to send out SIm and the works. Eventually, after dealing with Rahul, a very capable rep, I have it sorted, but not without the hastle of getting sim and cancelling and changing numbers etc. The rep that promised me all was done, never even logged any info on my account. Frustrating.

Careful with three they will send you a letter from stubbs a collection agency - I had awful problems with them refusing to send me a bill the a unknown mumber calling me to which the 3 reps told me was fake when I answered the call it was someone from India asking me to verify my account details to which I refused as they would not verify who they were to me first. I have now moved to meteor better signal as three had gotten worse since buying O2 & the laughable "the big upgrade "

    Hi everyone!
I only just opened the letter 3 sent out to all their customers about the price increases. I spoke with them today and they are saying that I cannot cancel out of my contract as I am 2 weeks passed the date they gave, is this final or can I fight it?

    Hi everyone!
I only just opened the letter 3 sent out to all their customers, I have had some personal problems the last few months. They are saying that I cannot cancel out of my contract as U have missed the notice they gave, is this final?

Pretty sure you don't have a legal route. https://www.lawteacher.net/free-law-essays/contract-law/postal-rule-of-acceptance-contract-law-essay.php

A soft approach might be better though highly unlikely to be successful I imagine.

Got the text today saying that prices were increasing by €5 a month. I signed a 2 year contract with a new phone last October. I assume i can cancel and just keep the phone?

One other thing. If i cancel how do i keep the same phone number? I've had the same phone number for nearly 15 years and i dont want to lose it.

you need to go to a pay as you go sim, or else transfer to another network before the end of your contract.

Wife is an ex-O2 customer, 8 months into a 18 month contarct.

She got text today saying there will be a price increase, I rang them straight away, contract now cancelled. Phone unlock code being processed

Probably go for the Virgin offer @ €5/month for 5 months, then €25/months thereafter, all text/calls/4Gdata unlimited.

And they are on the 3 Network too..

Really 3, WTF are you doing? Commercial suicide?

No silly, when you cancel they ask you to destroy your phone. I karate chopped mine into oblivion.

Probably the best thing they can do. By the looks of it, most people are signing back up to three on pay as you go anyway.

They are doing this as they have driven the cost so low in the market, that when this new EU free roaming comes in, many customer could cost the network quite a lot of money.

I have a friend of a friend within Vodafone, and he is in Risk management or something like that ( pub talk ) and he explained this to me. Three are doing what they think they need to do.

For the record Vodafone are watching this really close too, and may have to consider also if it turns out to be viable. You could compare this to the insurance market too. Meteor apparently will only offer 5GB of data for roaming, not all you can eat or what you get at home. Thats network number 2 out of 3 in Ireland that are trying to come around this free roaming. It's going to cost them, it's service they have to provide. I'm really interested in what will happen here.

Be careful. I went on payg and found myself neeeding to go on to 30 day rolling contract within a couple weeks.

While i manly only use my phone for internet services id be wasting my time watsapping and texting my mother so i just ring her to check in on her. In two weeks i went through the 20 quid so their non 3 to 3 calls must be fairly expensive..

Hi all, I.m hoping someone here may be able to help me. I am moving from bill pay to PAYG. I picked up a new SIM. I'm now being tld be three that I have to call on the day my contract is up to move my number over and it will be done in 24 to 48 hours. From initially speaking to three I thought this could be set up so the change would be instant. Has anyone done the same change as me, and how did you go about it?

    Thanks

Well in that case, look at ID mobile or Virgin mobile. They are on the three network.

Not sure internally what company they are like, but you stay on the three network but may get a cheaper plan

That meteor plan you are referring to doesn't offer unlimited social media data, I think it's just 1gb for social on that plan, it is unlimited on their sim only deals thou.

Ah that's excellent alright, somebody posted a screen grab of their account on the meteor thread last week and they only seemed to have 1gb of social bundle.
