I would question that though.. They still broke contract and you kind of have too depends how much you owe them because they are known for cutting off accounts with so much owed so it must not be that much.. If they say you can cancel go for it they might persuade you to stay, clear the debt and give you a good deal because its happened to a few people i know.. Worth a shot

I intend to pay, I just don't have the money at the moment. Car tax, car insurance, service, NCT, new tyres cleared me out this month. I owe them €140

Strange, they did it it all for me on twitter in 20 mins!

Yeah, their accidental closing of my account complicated everything: SIM card no longer valid, required a new SIM etc. Complete nightmare. Might as well have just switched to Vodafone.

I intend to use the credit from my PAYG to buy stuff on Google Play. Have never done this before, so if buying do I select the option 'three billing?' Is that my credit money?

Can a number be ported from I'll pay to PAYG Ina carphone warehouse or does it have to be a three store? And do you have to do it in person?

You have to do it in person but you don't have to visit a store. You can just call them.

Cool so somebody else can pick up a PAYG sim for me and I can just call them to Port? Cheers

No need for a sim change. They'll just switch the account.

That does make more sense. Thought it was said on here that you needed to get a new PAYG sim instore. Thanks

If I switch from a 24-month contract to a 30-day sim only contract, will I need a new sim card or will it just happen automatically?

If you order a sim online how long is delivery taking currently?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 135 ✭✭talkto

I used the online chat service to cancel my contract and switch to a 30 day rolling contract. All done and dusted within 10 minutes.

    Mine took 6 days.

Was just on with Three to that nightmare 1800 number; which after several endless holds and dropped calls (I'd gotten through to an operator three times, but the call went mid-conversation, which is infuriating after all the waiting) I finally was on to a lady in a call centre in Mumbai (I asked) - and when I queried if the Sim Only Unlimited Flex Max plan being offered had the same FUP as my current plan, Classic Flex Max 350 (FUP was 15GB/PM, now 60GB/PM AFAIK), she couldn't tell me; and when I asked her to find out she was unable to do so, so had to end the call as I'm not going to change without knowing the answer first.

So, my question is - does anyone know what the FUP on the Sim Only Unlimited Flex Max 30-day rolling contract plan is? And is it the same, or more , than my current plan?
Does anyone have the answer for this? Tomorrow's the last day, so it would be very helpful to find out today if someone does, thanks!

From their terms and conditions on the site:
† From 3rd April 2017 your price plan will change as set out at here.
*Deezer Premium+ for first three months before 30 June 2017, €9.99 monthly thereafter. At the end of 3 months your monthly subscription fee for Deezer (€9.99) will be added to your bill or deducted from your prepaid credit. Requires 4G access. Data charges may apply depending on your price plan. Where your data usage exceeds 60GB in a billing cycle and affects other users, we reserve the right to limit your service. Customers who have already benefited from a Deezer free trial or who already have a Deezer subscription are not eligible.

    tl;dr: it's 60GB.

Just wondering was anyone able to get a better deal with them by holding out, I'm cancelling the contract but there asking is there anything they can do for me to stay with them. Like with sky if you say your leaving you will always get a better deal. Don't know if 3 work like this

Never mind, I just cancelled. An hour and half I'll never get back

We changed 4 contracts yesterday. Put the teenagers on Prepay and myself and the Hubby got our contracts reduced. I only upgraded last month and they are cutting my contract short by 17 months. Which means my contract runs out this October and I can upgrade again in August. They also gave me €5 off my bill for the next 6 months.
Happy out as the tennager is roaring for an Iphone which I'll get on my upgrade.

Why didn't you get out of contract within 30 days and you could have upgraded then?

How much is your bill per month?

You would have been better off cancelling contract and moving to bill pay sim only 30days , unlimited call, texts and AYCED for 30euro ?

I cancelled my contract but didn't move anywhere else, just cancelled. That sim only 30 days offer looks really good.

Is today the last day you can cancel or is it too late to do it today?

Poster above says too late. 3rd April was on my letter.

I am raging with myself. I just rang, was on hold for aggggggggggggges. Finally got someone. Cut off was the 31st, changes come into play today. They allowed a few people cancel Sat and Sun but absolutely nobody can cancel today or any day after today.

I can't believe I missed the deadline. I hate my phone (HTC and cracked screen) and am over a year away from an upgrade so it would have been perfect.

Pretty sure 3rd april was on my letter too....

Negotiated discounts of 10 euro on 3 phones yesterday, and on a broadband dongle got a free month. negates the rise for the next 10 months on it.

Apparently 3rd April was date for changes (my letter is at home) but letter stated 30 days after that date (which I do remember reading to be fair...)

If your contract was being changed you got a letter. So technically everyone should have it.
