I don't expect it on Friday. I just expect it to be announced with gameplay shown. :)

You beat me anyway. I got 7 seconds. Once I saw the hat and he screeched and said "I'm gonna get in troooooubbbblllee" I was quite done.

I don't think the Switch needs to be on the same level power wise as the PS4 or XB1. Look at what they could do with relatively underpowered systems like the Wii and WiiU - Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Mario Kart 8 etc...

That's not the point, devs won't want to work on a system that causes headache. The PS4 being built on what's basically PC hardware was the greatest thing Sony ever done, porting games is a piece of piss compared to PS3 and devs love it.

Make your system weak and hard to develop for and you don't get games. I'm not buying a Nintendo machine because they don't release games fast enough. Don't cite the Wii U as something of a successful endeavour either... it was a massive failure for the reasons above.

It's possible mind, there is a Metroid game in development, I don't know obviously. I'm pretty sure that guys 'sources' are bullcrap mind. It's easy to say 'Metroid is in development' either he's right and gets credit online, or he's wrong and says 'oh they cancelled it/its really slow development'

It won't be as powerful as Xbox One and PS4, I think anyone expecting that is naive and the source of their own disappointment as well. I think the point is will be reasonably powerful, competitive and interesting enough for third parties to develop for. Xbox One is fast losing exclusive support and with the Scalebound debacle I can see a few others not quick to jump into big projects with Microsoft, from early signs Ninento are offering something different to that and hopefully it can fulfill the potential I think is there with the Switch.

Metroid has been tentatively rumoured for a few months now and let's be honest, saying there is a Metroid game in development but won't be shown anytime soon is hardly much of a risk anyway, especially with a new console. The chances is there has been at the very least some exploration of a Metroid game.

    Nearly there...

Nailing a switch to Reggie's head is going a little bit too far. :)

    Just think
Come the end of March the market will be flooded with cheap preowned PS4s and XB1s, as folk sell off their lesser machines to gain the fundage to buy a Nintendo Switch.
    And so they should.
But we'll forgive them for abandoning the one true gaming church of Nintendo....

Woke up at 430am last night, was in a right panic thinking I was 30 minutes late for the presentation,
ran downstairs to turn on the Laptop and stream to Chromecast, only find it hadnt started and no updates on Nintendolife.
Dazed and confused, to finally realise it wasnt Friday morning, I was a day early and went back to bed with my tail between my legs :) EPIC FAIL :)

Cant wait now for the actual presentation...

    3 must haves:
    - A Touchscreen (Sounds basic but if any reason it’s not there, it would be a major bummer)
    - No build quality Issues due to moving parts of the joycons etc, last thing you want is some recall, akin to the Samsung Note 7 fiasco.
    - Be powerful enough to be able to get near X1 Ports to encourage 3rd party support.

    3 wishes:
    - Supplemental power options be it dock at start (unlikely), or NVidia Cloud Gaming or a more powerful dock down the line upgrade it to a PS4 type home console to integrate with it.
    - Interchangeable JoyCons, SNES themed one 5 SNES Downloads, Gamecube themed one with GC Buttons and so forth. Having a one device for all back Catalog on the go would be sweet.
    - JonCons to have a pointer and motion controls to match the Wii controller to allow for a Wii Virtual Console, for Wii U Ports would suffice.

My biggest hope is that they don't forget about the various 3DS series like Etrian Odyssey, Ace Attorney, even Professor Layton.

Has there been any word on the docks being sold separately?

If they aren't tied to the console, it would be handy to have a dock for each TV in the house.

Rumour says they will be, but not at launch.

Rumours said that Wii U Gamepads would be sold separately and it would eventually support 2 of the damned things, possibly starting with Bayonetta 2. Rumours said my commute this morning would be under 40 minutes. Rumours said that Hillary was going to win. Rumours talk a lot of **** some times, that's all I'm saying, and should not form the basis of a purchase decision.

And before one of the oldies posts some Fleetwood Mac bull****, know this : Peter Green spits on you!

Apparently Capcom's been tweeting about the Switch event. Might mean something, might mean nothing.

Did the Gamestop €5 online deposit last night myself too, wanted to get in early, to try to ensure I'm not left scrambling trying to locate one!
