A lot of continuous thunder heard near Arklow now in an approaching storm that looks like it’s going to be a bullseye hit

Heard one loud rumble of thunder about 15 minutes ago in north Drogheda. No rain, just overcast and the birds have gone eerily quiet - eek!

Deep convection in the form of towering Cumulus and Cumulonimbus can be seen over the southern half of Ireland at midday today.

Likewise in Port but thunder is starting to get a little louder and more frequent in the last 20 mins

Working out the back garden in very mild temps dublin/meath border, very sure I just heard a faint rumble in the distance.

Yellow warning for Thunder has been extended to all of Leinster, except Dublin oddly, and the counties of south Ulster and east Connacht.

It has eased off here now Portlaoise, from near constant thunder and lightning, heavy rain and the odd hailstone shower! My water butt which was empty, is now over half full .

Which is odd given the radar is clearly showing the storm is running out of steam and starting to wane. Unless they're expecting a second wave which I doubt.

Fair enough! Can't say I remember anything around my area in D13 all of last year, I do live near the airport flight path so unless the thunder is particularly loud I probably wouldn't even register it

Looks like a lot of activity now in SW Dublin.

As with Bray, nada in Greystones!

Some nicely developed/developing cells here in Dundalk. The AM band on the car radio was spitting away like an angry cat as well.

A few distance rumbles once again, but looks like we may get nothing again, still no rain north Offaly this month.
